EDITOR'S LETTER Welcome to the very last edition of London Runway in the current format!
This is such a huge moment as we teeter on the brink of our new layout, schedule, and focus. There’s so much excitement behind the scenes here at London Runway HQ that it almost felt tempting to start making changes early, but instead we’ve held to our word and brought you one last issue in the soon-to-be old style. This Newness Issue is all about embracing the challenge that a new year brings: not just the push to do something different but the opportunity to grow and develop. I hope you’ll join us in tackling 2024 with a new outlook, a new approach, and a determination to always be better than you were yesterday.
We won’t see each other again until the 27th March 2024, so until then, I hope that you and yours stay well. It’s always a good time of year to
issue a reminder that you are enough. You are worthy, you are doing great even if all you are doing is existing, and you don’t need to beat yourself up if the year behind you didn’t go as well as you had hoped. It’s a difficult time for almost everyone at the moment, with the cost of living continuing to rise and no seeming end in sight. As a word of encouragement, I offer you this: you have survived everything that life has thrown at you so far. In other words, you so far have a 100% success rate at overcoming every challenge you have faced. So, why should this challenge be any different?
Think about that, and I know you’ll feel like you can handle everything life throws at you.
This issue, we have the last stragglers of our content from September’s London Fashion Week waiting to be digested, with some exciting and innovate looks as
always. We also have the stunning editorial that you glimpsed on the cover: the winning photoshoot for our second Face of London Runway, Essence Shomari Howells. If you missed the cover edition for our first winner, Corey Lane, make sure you go back and check out Issue 90. The future of the Face of London Runway is not determined yet with all the changes going ahead next year, we may well decide to take at least a year’s break in order to get all of our ducks in a row before we go ahead with the contest again. Either way, our worthy winners will continue to represent us for years to come, and we can’t wait to see the heights to which they can take their careers. Both of them are so driven and so unique - we know that they’re going to do great things. That’s all from me for 2023. I’l see you in the spring when hope is in the air and new fashion falls into our laps from the couture gods.

NEW FACE: ALEKSANDRA Name: Aleksandra Ignjatovic Age: 23 Location: Switzerland Agency: Option Models Agency Zurich How long have you been modelling for? I started modeling a year ago. Back then, I had my first shooting experiences with Christoph Marti, who then also connected me with Option Model Agency. Since then, I have had various photoshoots for magazines and brands and have also gained experience on the runway. Where are you from originally? I grew up in Switzerland; however, my roots are in Serbia, where I still love to go. Do you have an unusual talent or party trick? I generally love to cook and bake. I never go to a party without bringing
a cake or pie that I've made. I love trying out new things. I think that's also why I love modeling - you can always try something new. What would surprise people to know about you? I have diverse interests in my life: besides modeling, I work full-time in the real estate industry, have a passion for interior design and art, and I absolutely love traveling to different countries and immersing myself in new cultures. What are your modelling ambitions? I believe I've made a good start in the world of modeling. Especially the many experiences I've been able to gather have given me a solid foundation upon which I can build. I look forward to continuing to work for new brands, seeing myself in magazines, and collaborating with many interesting people.

In the modeling business a little over a year Do you have an unusual talent or party trick? I am passionate about Korean culture, hence my love for Korean cooking, TV series, movies and music, and I also really enjoy doing aerial yoga.
What would surprise people to know about you? I like to challenge myself: to move to another city with a dog on my own, each time to choose something unusual for me: an educational institution, some interesting filming: on a horse, with reptiles, birds and history.... What are your modelling ambitions? I want to go work under a contract abroad on international projects - but this is more of a goal

The company is just the culmination of all the things I’ve wanted to make - music, film, fashion, photography etc. Currently, how many people work for the business? Currently we have 5 models on staff, I do everything else
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a business? Do it - nothing is stopping you besides the fear of failure and in reality you fail at things that mean so much less to you than living the life you want year after year, so why fear failing at this? Where do you hope the company will be in 5 years time? I hope to be teaching seamstresses to develop their unique styles and expanding
