RUNWAY LONDON FASHION REPORT

SPOTLIGHT ON LONDON EDGE RUNWAY SHOWS FEATURING ALTERNATIVE FASHION

LONDON EDGE S/S 17 What's up in this issue

Written and photgraphed by RHIANNON D'AVERC

Issue three of London Runway brings us to London Edge, an alternative fashion show showcasing the best of the brands on the edge. It claims to be the only trade show on the planet dedicated to the alternative lifestyle, and as such is frequented by visitors from around the world. With the tag line 'never boring', it was sure to be an interesting ride. The images here provide a glimpse at the catwalk shows, which were held four times daily with two different formats. Each showcased a range of different brands, with a styled selection for the finale.

While it's clear that there is not as much experience in putting together a show here, the models included some familiar faces who you will no doubt recognise from former issues. One thing that really stood out was the issue of model sizing. Everyone chosen for this show was on the smaller side, and a couple of the models looked dangerously thin with collarbones protruding. During a month in which big fashion houses pledged not to use underweight models in their shows, it's a weighty issue which threatened to overwhelm the clothes themselves.

What's coming up next for London Runway? We're looking forward LFW where we will be attending the Fashions Finest catwalks as well as a number of other shows and events in London over the course of September. We look forward to seeing you there - or here in the pages of our next issue! Drop us a line via Instagram or Londonrunway@gmail.com if you have press tickets available and would like to be featured in the next issue. Enjoy - and remember to follow @pcistudio on Instagram for more.
