Manager’s Report – GM Horner
GM Horner presented his monthly reports and updates. Project Report o The wooden doors at the Rec Hall have been re-stained. o The floors for the Rec Hall and Arts and Crafts room have been stripped and refinished. o The exercise equipment has been reupholstered. Some equipment still needs work done. o Two new a/c units have been installed for the exercise room. o Concrete gutter has been redone behind 50 to 53. o Behind Green 5, the drainage ditch will be angle back towards the drain and will use the left over retaining wall, from the pond, and place it at the end where the drain was so the water will be able to raise the level back up in the pond. o Installed a new 30 gallon water heater in the Dolphin Room. o Mowing has been delayed due to cleaning the canals of heavy debris and weather. o Since it has slowed down, bricks are now being pulled out at the pool area to try to find and fix the flow problem. Past Due Condo Fees o (27) 16-30 days late ($5,299.00) o (08) 31-60 days late ($2,463.50) o (06) 61-90 days late ($4,798.00) o (11) 90 days late ($19,328.33) Past due condo fees last month totaled $30,535.00. The current past due condo fees total $31,888.83. Difference of $1,353.83. Building Permit o 14 issued; 1 concrete deck, 3 concrete, 1 repair boat deck, 2 repair seawall, 2 removal of park model, 1 tie down, 3 unit reconstruction, 1 ramp, 1 handicap ramp Thefts o GM Horner stated that many good suggestions were brought up at the security meeting. One really good suggestion was a neighborhood watch. GM Horner stated that he printed a manual from Bureau of Justice Assistance to be presented and discussed at the next security meeting. GM Horner also stated that he has made some changes and is working with a board member but any changes will not be made public in order to properly take effect. GM Horner also urged owners to secure their property and to call security if anyone sees a questionable person. o GM Horner announced that the library will be closed until next Monday due to repairs to the outside wall near the fence where the a/c unit is located.

Okay, I know I’m going to be repeating myself since I told you about “stuff” last month, but it’s for your own good. Trust me. You don’t want to miss ANYTHING. Go get your calendar and a pen and write down the following: Sunday, Dec. 2nd - The Valley Voices Concert - $3:00 P.M. ($10 admission) at the Rec Hall. Monday, Dec. 3rd - Golf Cart Parade (5:30 at Rec Hall) and Chili Party (Patio behind Rec Hall following the parade) - I am pretty sure you payed attention last month when I told you to get your decorations organized so you should be all set, right? You were paying attention, right? Prizes will be given for Single Cart, Multiple Carts, Motorcycles, and Nonmotorized (bicycle, wagon, baby buggy, whatever!). Sunday, Dec. 9th - LIV Christmas Concert - 4:00 P.M. (Donation at the door) We have many talented people here in our village and John Moore knows how to bring them all together to fill you with the Christmas spirit. You will love it! Monday, Dec. 10th - Cocktails with Leslie - 4 - 6 P.M. ($3.00 at the door) Snacks for your table and your dancing shoes (clothes would be good too) and maybe a “libation” - That’s all you need. Friday, Dec. 14th - Employee Christmas Party 2:00 P.M. Don’t forget to come and show your appreciation for all their hard work. Wednesday, Dec. 19th - Lighting Contest Judging - Prizes will be given for Cottage Home/RV, Sea Cottages, Decks/Docks. Watch for more details at the Activity Center. Let’s get this village bright and shiny for the holidays! Monday, Dec. 31st - New Year’s Eve Dance 8:00 P.M. Usher in the new year with the Manglin Wranglers. Still working out the details so once again, check at the Activity Center. Now that you’ve got all this on your calendar, throw it out and just tape this page to your fridge. Make a copy and tape it to your bathroom mirror. Keep another one in your pocket. Now here’s another “heads up” - The Denim & Diamonds Dance will be on Saturday, Jan. 12th and we’ve kicked it up a notch (to coin a phrase). This year you will be encouraged to decorate your tables to show off your state and/or country. If you’re not here yet, start gathering up what you’ll need and bring it with you. If you’re already here, call up your kids, friends, relatives and tell them to ship it all down to you. It’ll give them something to do. One more thing - By now you’ve probably noticed that our restaurant has been spruced up a bit. Your D & E Committee was happy to provide new curtains (with money you spend at our events). We had a small problem in that the curtains were all too long. QUILTERS TO THE RESCUE! The LIV Quilters happily volunteered to cut, hem, and press all the curtains for us. Next time you see a Quilter give her/him a hug and a high five. Thank you all so much!!!
