Watering Restriction
Due to an $80,000 cost overrun in 2011 and to be proactive with water conservation, the Board of Directors voted to enact a year round residential watering restriction. This would allow for outside water usage on Tuesday and Saturday from 7am until 7pm, for washing houses, decks, cars, etc. All watering hoses must have some type of water shut-off at the end of the hose, to prevent uncontrolled water flow. This will take effect on June 1, 2012. The exceptions to this restriction would be for residents using water to wash their boats, clean up after fishing, and for hand held hose watering of plants and gardens. This watering restriction will allow year round water usage for LIV controlled sprinklers at preset times, and would not allow individual controls on sprinkler systems. All individual controls will be disconnected and wired only into LIV controlled systems, if possible. Security would be expected to enforce the watering restriction, by issuing a warning citation. A record of all citations issued will be kept on file. Information of LIV’s water restrictions will be included in rental information supplied at the time of check-in. Jeff Kelmis Assistant Treasurer LIV Board of Directors

MANAGER’S CORNER Hurricane Awareness Month As we are fast approaching hurricane season, we have started our inspection to ensure that we are ready in case of a storm. During the month of May we will be inspecting all lots and if any violations are found we will send out courtesy letters to make you aware of the problems. We will be looking for things like boat trailers, golf cart, patio furniture, grills ect.. not being tied down. We all hope that this will be a quiet summer, however we must be prepared and your help in getting this done will be appreciated. If you have questions, please call the maintenance shop 956-943-5670.

FROM THE BRIDGE It’s that time of year again, (HURRICANE SEASON). Watch the T.V. (channel 18), the Marquee and the signs at the bridge for information when there is a hurricane in the GULF. It is also the season for extreme tides, either high or low. If you have a low ground clearance vehicle (trailer, motor home, etc.), you will need to watch for a level tide at the bridge to cross the bridge. YOU ARE CROSSING THE BRIDGE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Thank you, L.I.O.A. Bridge Board

7 “Beautification Of Our Park” Marilyn Martin, Lot 96, has spent a lot of her time and money to replant the two flower beds in front of the Library and Activity Center, hang ivy baskets with flowers on the patio behind the Rec. Hall, decorate the tables in the Grill with flower vases and the red Heart vases for Valentine’s Day. She has planted new shrubs in several beds to replace the ones that died. She has come up with some ideas how to beautify the area by the miniature golf and the side of the Library, but that project is only in the works and will have to be approved. I know there are several people in the Village who would volunteer to help her next spring with the flower beds and planting.
