D&E
This is our Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! issue, and I’m going to start with all of you who attended our many events this winter. (I still have a hard time using the “winter” word, because it sure doesn’t feel like winter). Anyway, I digress - - - Without your participatiowe would have no need for a D & E Committee which would mean no events which would mean NO FUN. See how that works? Your D & E Committee works hard each year to come up with events that you will enjoy. Events for the following year depend a lot on participation in the previous years. Here’s how you can help out: If you enjoyed an event you need to tell as many people as possible how great it was. You need to do this THE NEXT DAY while you’re still smiling. Then when you come back in fall you need to remind as many people as possible how much fun you had at that event and encourage them to participate. That way your favorite “stuff” will never disappear. It’ll work. Trust me. Okay, now I’m going to tell you just who it is that you should absolutely go out of your way to thank - You have no idea how many hours they happily donate to make sure you have a great time. Here goes: Barb Armstrong, Darlene Collins, Pat Diebold, Lily Givan, Flora Gunderson, Karen Pelletier, Wanda Robertson, Anita White, and Joan Olson. These last two ladies deserve a whole lot of extra thanks. Anita is the lady who keeps an eye out, checks out, and books our entertainment. She has done a wonderful job! Joan is the “glue” that holds us all together. She’s the lady who gets us organized so we get the job done. She’s the “boss lady” who cracks the whip. The thing is she is so darn nice all the time that we don’t even realize the whip has been cracked. How does she do that????? More thank you’s - Our ever faithful volunteer couples are John & Judy Agar, Jim & Helen Burnard, Bud & Maryann Kruszka, and Marty & Jacky Pauken. Our ever faithful “volunteer” husbands are Larry Armstrong, Henry Diebold, Joe Givan, George Gunderson, Don Pelletier, Dick Olson, and Bob Robertson. HUGS TO ALL OF YOU!!!! One more thing - Your participation in our events also helps out our LIV community. D & E donated $750 for the Employees Christmas Party and $500 for painting by the pool. We are also in the process of purchasing 24 card tables and 50 chairs for the owners lounge. So thank you again! Hope all of you have a wonderful summer getting hugs from those grandkids. Stay healthy, stay happy, and see you at ALL the fun stuff next season. I’ll catch up with you again when I’m almost done hugging my grandkids!

Marilyn Marten Lot 096 has been one busy lady digging in the dirt. She has put in some beautiful plantings all over the common areas. Too numerous to describe. She has made some rather boring areas light up with color. If you have not seen the landscaped areas around the library and Activity Center, you really need to stop and enjoy them. Harold Burke Lot 753 has been kind enough to donate a boat and motor to the Swing Bridge. This boat will assist the Bridge Operator in getting from the pilot house to the Port Isabel side when the Bridge has to be tied back in case of a storm or surge. The Sand Dollar Quilter have been generous enough to donate a new clock in the LIV Grill. It is very unique and you should stop by the grill for lunch and check it out. I want to express a sincere amount of gratitude for all of you who have donated both financially and with your time to make many improvements in the village. It is with your help that Long Island Village continues to be the special place it is. The Village says “Thank You” , Editor
