From the Bridge: This is the time for peak trafic on the bridge both boats and automobiles. The United States Coast Guard regulates when the bridge should be opened for boat traffic. If you need to be at a certain place at a certain time -- leave early so you will not be caught on the bridge. Try not to leave on the hour as that is the time the bridge is open for pleasure boats during the week day hours. The bridge monitors Channel 12 on the Marine Radio and also can be called direct at 956-9431622. Thank you for your patience. L.I.O.A. Bridge Board

In January a contractor was banned from the park for stealing our cans. This summer we had a stealing problem at all the dumpster areas and had to take all the barrels in for about 3 weeks which hurt our Library revenue. Before depositing your cans in the barrels, please open the bag. This would help us when we take the cans to the recycling center. Don’t forget we have Medical Equipment and some loan items. 2013 DIRECTORIES Only 250 were ordered this year. Buy a new one early! Remember owners are dropping their landline phones and you won’t know their cell phone number. This is also our biggest money maker for the Library. Movies and books are expensive so please support us.

I really really really don’t like the March newsletter - - It means we’re at the very bottom of our Events Schedule. It means I’m running out of fun things to tell you about. It means we’re going to be saying “goodbyes” before too long. Nope, not going to go there. Not yet. We still have a fun month ahead of us, so I sure hope all of you will take full advantage of every last minute! As I’m sure you all know, our Annual Meeting is March 2nd at 1 p.m. I KNOW you will all be there. What you might not know is that we’re going to have a Spring Fling Snack Dance with the Good Times Band afterwards. (7 - 10 p.m.) This idea came from some of the Valley owners. They thought it would be fun to be able to socialize with all of you while they were in for the meeting. Then on Monday, March 4th, join your friends at another Leslie Cocktail Party (4 - 6 p.m.). You know the drill on this one - SaaaaaaLUTE! I hope you have been gathering your “stuff” together for the Luau Dinner Dance with FasciNation on Saturday, March 9th (6 - 10 p.m.) This dance is so much fun because you people are so darn creative. That’s why we are giving best table decoration prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. There will also be a “People’s Choice” award. You’re even MORE inspired now, right? Thought so. (Good excuse to go to Progresso or Elizabeth Street - just saying.) Monday, March 18th you will want to come for your last “Leslie Fix” of the season (4 - 6 p.m.) Well, I guess that about wraps it up for this month. Don’t forget to check in at the Activity Center now and then in case there are any changes. Till next month,

Shirley Ritten SAND DOLLAR QUILTERS

If you haven’t had an opportunity to stop by and see the many projects the ladies have been working on you have truly missed some beautiful handmade treasurers. Our quilters are so talented but always have the time to show others who are just learning the art of quilting. Many of these projects will be on display February 16th during our quilt show. Our Pajama Night was a huge success. The ladies were able to make over 75 pillowcases, numerous fleece blankets, and quilts that we are donating to Sunny Glen Children’s Home in San Benito. Sunny Glen was established in 1936 and serves neglected and abused children ages infant to 18 years of age .in our community. We invite you to come and join us on Fridays in the Arts and Craft room.
