I really get bummed this time of year because I’m running out of events to tell you about. We want to thank all of you for your wonderful participation in our events - You’ve made them lots of fun (in spite of the yucky weather). But have no fear - WE’RE NOT QUITE DONE YET - - - Sunday, March 2nd - America’s Favorite One-Handed Pianist, Brian Arnold, 2:00 p.m. Oldies, Gospel, Pop - Something for everyone. Publicized as Branson’s “Show of the Year”. $5.00 at the door Monday, March 3rd - Come party and have Cocktails with Leslie, 4 - 6 p.m. Saturday, March 8th - It’s the LUAU DINNER DANCE, 6 - 10 p.m. This is a really fun time because we all get to see your crazy creative sides as you decorate your tables to win the “big bucks”. Bring yourself, bring your friends, and bring your camera - You’re going to want to take pics of all the amazing tables! (Don’t forget to sign up for your tables and get your tickets at the Activity Center) Monday, March 17th, you’ll have the chance to “Saaaaaaaaalute” Leslie one more time at the Cocktail Party, 4 - 6 p.m. Everybody needs one last “Leslie Fix”, right??? See? I told you were weren’t quite finished yet! Till next time,

DIR Ramirez inquired on the nature of the major water leak reported by FM Zamora on his report. FM Zamora explained that the leak was due to erosion of a clamp that had probably been in place for 30 years. He added that backup parts had been procured and were now in stock to avoid unnecessary delays going forward. AT Guerra inquired on the estimated price for the cleanup required on the removal of the dirt behind the letter lots. FM Zamora estimated the cost to be between $6,000-$7,000 including diesel, labor, and wear and tear on the equipment. o o
Work Orders- Please see figure A-4 FM Zamora reported that there were a total of 42 work orders.
DIR McBride suggested that FM Zamora speak to the Laguna Madre Water District (LMWD) in regards to the leak and inquire about a possible credit on sewer charges. FM Zamora stated that he would reach out to the LMWD.

OBITUARIES Catherine “Kitty” Ellis, age 85, passed peacefully at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen on December 28 after a short illness. By her own calculation she was just 21 years old as she was a Leap Year baby having been born on February 29, 1928. Kitty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and daughter, Kathy Ellis Looney. For many years Bill and Kitty owned and loved intracoastal lot #244 on Conch Drive, enjoying innumerable wonderful days there as Bill fished and Kitty socialized with her many Long Island friends. Bill and Kitty were married on September 11, 1948. After living and working in the Washington, D.C. area they retired to live full time on the road in an RV, eventually settling in Alamo, TX, and purchasing their Long Island lot. They are now together again as her cremated remains join his “in the wall” at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Mission. For the past year Kitty resided in Port Isabel with her daughter, Karen Ellis Vassar to whom notes of remembrance or sympathy cards may be sent at PO Box 1031, Port Isabel, TX, 78578 Joyce Johnson 78, passed away on January 25, 2014 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Joyce presently had resided at Lot 587, however had actually been in Long Island Village for over the past 15 years. She is survived by her husband Larry, 1 son, 2 daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing and traveling. Joyce will surely be missed by her friends and family Denis Poirier 79, passed away peacefully Friday, January 31, 2014 at their new home in Mesquite (Dallas) Texas. His wife Dorothy of 49 years was at his side. They had recently moved to Mesquite to be with their children after many years at LIV.
