Okay, you know that old saying “The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing?” Well it seems that sometimes even the D & E COMMITTEE has that problem. Do to being totally too relaxed either someone forgot to send an email or someone missed reading an email. Either way, we screwed up and want to make it right.

Flexible Property Management Agreement Lower Management Fees on Home Rental units Easier personal use of your property, when not being rented Palm Tree trimming on RV Lots (4 month min contract) Village provides linens, cleaning services and limited maintenance

Come on in, We think you will be pleased…

SAND DOLLAR QUILTERS Happy Anniversary to Sand Dollar Quilters! We celebrated the club’s 20th anniversary at the farewell luncheon, March 14th. Eight charter members were our honored guests. They are Joan Alexander, Norma Cook, Kathy Fawcett, Joan Korson, Marilyn Oberlin, Joan Olson, Rita Priest, and Pat Schnell. As we look back on a busy winter season, the quilt show and mini raffle were high-light events. From the many beautiful quilts and handiwork pieces entered into the quilt show; the “Viewer’s Choice” first, second and third place winners were Randi York, Sheryl Vaughn, and Maxi Onishenko for large quilts; Mary Downing, Barb Prozyk, and Donna Weaver for small quilts; and Randi York, Sandra Etter, and Linda Cutter for the miscellaneous category. With the proceeds from the mini raffle, we were able to donate much needed items, including port-a-cribs, strollers, high-chairs, and diaper bags to the Sunny Glen Cradle of Hope program. Thank-you to everyone in LIV that supported our raffle and made these gifts possible. This season we have had many happy hours of quilting, learning new techniques, sharing ideas, helping each other and just chatting! We’ve also had some sadness with the passing of two cherished members, Peg Phillips and Minnie Dienert and extend our condolences to their families and friends. We look forward to next winter when we will again greet “old” members and welcome new members with new ideas and new projects.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! to Pat Burke, Kathy Brunner, Marlene Louis, and Pat Wilson for helping us out with putting up Christmas trees. We definitely appreciated your being there when we needed you and you should have been on our list of great volunteers in last month’s newsletter. Can you feel the hugs? See you next Christmas? Apologizing again,

WARNING NOTICE Spring has sprung and the weeds are happy to be back in full bloom. The village is spraying each time the wind dies down. The pesticide can be dangerous to your pets depending on how often they are out. The village will put yellow flags on the lawn after it has been sprayed. The flags will then be removed after 24 hours and your pets will be safe.

9 REGULAR BOARD MEETING January 26, 2014 Approval of the January 22, 2014 Board of Directors Meeting Minutes Assistant Secretary Gunderson moved to accept the minutes as presented. Director McBride seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion Passed. Assistant Treasurer Guerra made a motion to have the Finance Committee reconvene and meet with the President of the Golf Committee in order to re-evaluate the recommendations that were presented. Secretary Vasquez seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion Passed. Vice-President Pelletier made a motion to remove two sentences at the bottom of page 12 of the Building Rule Handbook. The two sentences read “Rear sunken patio or storage area under rear deck and home (area level with the seawall cap) cannot extend further forward than 28’ at longest side of building line and may not be obtainable if utilities are crossing the area. The building line is determined by the right side of the original pad and the left side building line is 24’ across from the right side line”. Director McBride seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion Passed. Vice-President Pelletier made a motion to insert where sentences were removed: “Owner is responsible for, and at their expense, to locate utilities crossing their property. A drawing, including depth of sewer, must be submitted at time of permit issuance and a detail on how they plan to protect the sewer line. A (5) five foot clear area on both sides of the sewer line must be maintained where no building weight will be impacting the sewer line. Rear sunken patio and storage area under home may not be lower than seawall cap. A management representative must make at least three inspections daily during excavation to be sure no damage is done to utilities. You are responsible, if there is any digging or excavation, to notify the following, three days prior to start of construction, to determine if there is any cable or lines in the area of construction: Call Before You Dig (800) 245-4545 or LIVOA Maintenance Office at (956) 943-5670. An engineered foundation plan must be included with the plans and approved by a professional engineer licensed by the State of Texas. “ Director McBride seconded the motion.
