The current past due condo fees (not including those in grace period 1-15days) total $34,460.00. The difference is $ 18,716.25. • Projects FM Zamora presented a projects report to the board members. He reported that The manhole at the sea cottages had been completed. He also reported that the door to the filter room at the outdoor ;pool was replaced. FM Zamora stated that the base boards and doors in the rec hall were cleaned and painted by employee Geno Vara who did a very good job. FM Zamora also reported that signs with proper wording for license compliance were ordered and replaced. • FM Zamora stated that the Village Grill was in the process of getting fumigated when the machine broke down. Exterminating services have been rescheduled for October 2, 2013. The grill is also undergoing a deep cleaning and will hopefully undergo some remodeling if funds can be obtained. • Restriping of the parking lots is continuing. • FM Zamora announced that an estimate was being obtained to resurface the Welcome Center parking lot but he would be turning that over to AP Pelletier. • Cleaning of the sewer line is continuing and should be completed. • International Carpet was called to give an estimate to carpet the miniature golf course. The estimate is needed so that the project may be included in next year’s budget. AT Guerra asked FM Zamora if the parking lot striping was being done in house. He expressed his concern over whether it was something that was going to be scheduled in the near future at a higher cost. FM Zamora replied that it was being done in house. AS Gunderson also voiced her concern about the paint that was being used. She questioned whether the correct paint was being used as it does not seem to stay on vary long. FM Zamora explained that it was the correct paint but they were using midrange priced paint instead of the higher priced paint the state uses. According to FM Zamora the paint the state uses is much more expensive and requires special machinery to apply. VP Pelletier suggested that not washing down or getting rid of the salt before painting can also contribute to the problem.

How about a look down memory lane on how the transportation to both Long Island Village and South Padre Island was from 1954 - 1974. We have a lot better travel today, even though the traffic gets busy and the boats slow things down. We have a great crew keeping everything in repair. Give them a wave or a thank you now and then.
