FOR EWO R D Once again, this time of year has come around so quickly. The Foundation Show has become an event in its own right and is certainly something in the calendar to look forward to. For me, it is always bittersweet, celebrating students’ success on conclusion of their final projects while, sadly, realising they are leaving college to embark on the exciting opportunities the qualification has encouraged. This year, the students have worked hard to produce the following work, which we have set out in the stunning venue of Madingley Hall. The exhibition, entitled ‘Magnum Opus’, displays a breadth of specialist practice and celebrates the diversity of the creative outputs explored by each individual.

Yet again, the year has had its challenges for most, with COVID still hanging over education, but we managed to offer a range of exciting enrichment opportunities in addition to the course. This year’s students have benefitted from trips, artist talks and visits while showcasing their work in public spaces such as the Grand Arcade in central Cambridge. They have worked hard fundraising to support the printing of this catalogue and, in doing so, professionally considered ways in which to promote their creative intentions and ambitions. Skills such as these are the bread and butter of the creative industry, and I have no doubt they will be developed further by each student going forward. Finally, I would like to personally congratulate the students and thank the kind sponsors that have supported them. I wish them all the best for their creative futures.
