Long Road Study Spaces Whilst the Christmas season is now over, exam season is just beginning. We know this can be a stressful time, so we thought it would be helpful to highlight the areas in the college available for independent and group study. If we missed any, please feel free to let us know!

The Breakout The Breakout is totally new to Long Road. It was finished in November 2023, and is the most modern all our study spaces. This communal work area has plug and USB chargers, as well as booths, communal work areas, and printers. Location: K Block

Noise levels: Medium

Student Centre The Student Centre is one of the most popular areas of the college for studying. With enough seating for close to 100 students, this is a great place to come and work on team projects, and is perfect for those who like a bit of background noise whilst they’re working. Location: E Block

LRC The LRC is by far the most diverse study area we have in the college. There are the well-known resources available such as a large amount of reading material, desktop computers, and the study space, but did you know that you can also borrow laptops from here? (As long as you have your Long Road ID!) Location: B Block

Noise levels: Silent

Plus Time Sessions Plus Time Sessions are organised by teachers for their specific course subject on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 14:40 - 16:10. A lot of the subjects at Long Road have them, and the good thing is that you can speak to a teacher about the subject you are studying for. Speak to your subject teachers for more information. Location: Multiple

Noise levels: Low

Academic Support Academic Support is an area of the college designed to help students who may be facing additional challenges. They have a number of work spaces available, with learning support assistants available to help you on a 1 to 1 basis. Location: C Block
