Longview THE ON A Year of Growth, Leadership & Momentum

As we step into a new year filled with promise and potential, I am reminded of the incredible strength and dedication of our business community. Together, we are shaping the future of Longview—one connection, one initiative, and one bold step at a time.

Our recent Total Resource Campaign exceeded expectations, surpassing our $625,000 goal! This achievement speaks volumes about the commitment of our investors and volunteers who believe in the power of a strong Chamber. Your support fuels our ability to provide valuable resources, advocate for business-friendly policies, and create programs that drive Longview forward.

RISE

Momentum is on our side! We are launching an exciting lineup of events designed to educate, engage, and empower our members. From the State of the Region Luncheon (March 20) to the East Texas Chamber Coalition Legislative Trip to Austin (March 2-4), we are ensuring that Longview has a voice at every level of government.

Our Leadership and Workforce Development programs continue to cultivate the next generation of leaders. The 40 Under 40 Executive Series and Leadership Longview are equipping young professionals with the skills and network they need to thrive. Additionally, our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines on the Raising Highly Capable Kids program is making a lasting impact on future generations.

As we embark on 2025, I encourage you to stay engaged—attend an event, volunteer on a committee, or connect with fellow members. The Chamber is your partner in success, and together, we will continue to build a stronger, more prosperous Longview.

Let’s make this a year of action innovation, & growth!

REACH

REACH Team:

The Faces of Business Success

The Longview Chamber of Commerce thrives on fostering a strong and engaged business community, and at the forefront of this mission is the REACH Team. This dedicated group of volunteers, composed of chamber members, serves as the face of the Chamber at key events, offering support, enthusiasm, and a welcoming presence to new and existing businesses alike.

WHO IS THE REACH TEAM?

The REACH Team is a dynamic network of business professionals who are passionate about community engagement and economic growth. Their mission is simple yet impactful: to build relationships, support businesses, and ensure every Chamber event is a success.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

Members of the REACH Team play a vital role in various Chamber functions, including:

Ŏ RIBBON CUTTINGS: Celebrating new businesses and milestones with enthusiasm, making owners feel welcomed and valued.

Ŏ BUSINESS AFTER HOURS: Networking with fellow business leaders to foster connections and collaborations.

Ŏ CHAMBER LUNCHEONS AND EVENTS: Assisting in event execution, greeting attendees, and ensuring a smooth experience for all participants.

Ŏ COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Serving as ambassadors who advocate for Chamber membership and economic development within the region.

WHY JOIN THE REACH TEAM?

For Chamber members, joining the REACH Team is an excellent opportunity to expand their professional network, increase their visibility in the community, and contribute to the business ecosystem of Longview.

Through their involvement, members not only support fellow businesses but also gain valuable leadership and networking experiences that benefit their own careers and companies.

MAKING A LASTING IMPACT

The presence of the REACH Team at Chamber events creates an inviting and inclusive atmosphere that strengthens community ties. Their dedication ensures that businesses—both new and established—feel supported and connected within Longview’s thriving business landscape.

For those looking to get involved, the REACH Team offers a unique chance to make a difference while building relationships that extend beyond professional connections. If you’re interested in joining this passionate group of business leaders, reach out to the Longview Chamber of Commerce today and become a part of something bigger!

What the REACH Team Means to Its Members

Being a part of the Reach Team has given me the opportunity to connect with businesses, promote networking, and foster community involvement within Longview.

– Joshua Warbington

It’s an honor to be a part of the REACH team and to represent Spring Hill State Bank at ribbon cuttings and other Chamber events."

In the fast-paced and self-focused culture, we live in, a servant's heart is needed most. Volunteering with the Longview Chamber of Commerce gives me an opportunity to help support others through my physical actions. The network of friends and connections I've grown through volunteering is worth more than gold. "

– Kelsie Hopkins

I’ve enjoyed serving with the Chamber REACH team since its inception back when we were Blue Blazers and then Ambassadors. I’ve made many friends and met people who have helped me grow both personally and professionally. It’s fun working with businesses to help Longview grow and be a better community for our families. There’s always something new to learn and do! I enjoy spreading the word about what Longview has to offer."

– Linda Whitehead

I volunteer because I believe in the mission of our chamber. They make a significant difference in our community, and I want to be a part of that. "

I volunteer because it’s a chance to make a difference, one small act at a time. "

I have wonderful experiences each time I volunteer for the Chamber. For example, I had a blast delivering bags to businesses in Tyler.

I would like to give back to the business community - "It is more blessed to give than to receive." It is the right thing to do. "To him much is given, much is expected," - Luke 12:48. Dave Jochum is a great guy. He walks his talk. I volunteer because of the way he treats Reach Team Members. In addition, Morgan, Catherine Camp and Shawna Stewart are Chamber gems - always ready to assist. The Reach Team is like a Family and Friends Circle."

– Joycelyne Fadojutimi

LEADERSHIP LONGVIEW CLASS OF 2025: PROJECT OPEN HOUSE & GRADUATION

The Leadership Longview Class of 2025 has spent the past year growing as leaders and making a meaningful impact in the community. Their dedication and hard work will soon be on display at the Project Open House on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Pines.

The Boys & Girls Club is a vital organization that provides children and teens with a safe, supportive, and enriching environment. Recognizing the club’s importance, this year’s Leadership Longview class chose to focus their efforts on addressing some of its most pressing facility needs.

Through their project, the class has remodeled the club’s library, adding new books, fun games, updated furniture, and fresh flooring. They have also converted two classrooms into interactive learning labs, equipped with STEM materials and workplace readiness resources to help prepare kids for the future. Additionally, they have revitalized a large communal space used by the club and other organizations, enhancing it with new sound equipment, chairs, and tables.

This transformation will leave a lasting impact on the Boys & Girls Club and the children it serves. The community is invited to attend the Project Open House to see these improvements firsthand and celebrate the dedication of the Leadership Longview Class of 2025.

The class will officially graduate on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Infinity Event Center during the Longview Chamber’s Business Solutions Luncheon. This event will recognize their accomplishments and the positive change they’ve brought to the community.
