“Small Business isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s for the brave, the patient, and the persistent. It’s for the overcomer.”

T

hree “overcomers” will be recognized at the Chamber’s annual Small Business Solutions Luncheon,

presented by Starfish Ad Age, on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:30 am. This event, conducted annually during or close to Small Business Week, will feature the following award recipients. Patterson Nissan will receive the Small Business of the Year Award, Cace Kitchen will receive the Family Owned Business of the Year Award, and Operation Unbroken will receive the Veteran Owned Business of the Year Award.

These business each have under 100 employees, have operated in Longview for multiple years, and have overcome many challenges along the way. While every small business in existence in our community deserves an award just for making it through COVID and our local “snowmageddon,” these businesses were chosen to highlight their unique story by way of videos being produced for the luncheon.

sioner Representing Employers for the Texas Workforce Commission. Prior to employment at the Texas Workforce Commission, he served as a Senior Advisor to Governor Rick Perry and Executive Director of the Economic Development & Tourism Division in the Governor’s Office, leading a team that marketed the State of Texas as a premier destination for both business and travel. Glen Hamer, President and CEO of the Texas Association of Business. Prior to coming to Texas, Glen served for 14 years as the CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce.
