Longview Chamber's TECH Council

The Longview Chamber’s Technology Council, established just over a year ago, is at the forefront of empowering its member businesses with cutting-edge tech solutions and knowledge. Chaired by John Andrews of Citadel6, the council has been actively shaping the tech landscape within the Longview community.

Under the visionary leadership of John Andrews, the council has introduced a trifecta of initiatives to enrich its members’ tech acumen. First in the lineup is the ‘Tech Talk’ series, a monthly webinar that offers a platform for members to glean insights from industry experts. These hour-long sessions cover a diverse array of topics, ranging from cyber security to the mysteries of the dark web and the wonders of AI.

The pinnacle of their efforts, the ‘Cyber Summit,’ is a semi-annual half-day conference that delves into all things cyber-related. Featuring engaging talks, techrelated vendors, keynote speakers, and even a satisfying lunch, the summit’s debut in 2023 was a resounding success. Plans are already in motion for the 2024 summit, promising to be even more enlightening and dynamic.

Taking a bold step towards nurturing the next generation of tech enthusiasts, the council is gearing up for ‘CodeLongview!’ in the Spring of 2024. This event is designed to captivate middle and high school students, immersing them in a four-hour experience within the computer labs of Kilgore College Longview. It’s an invaluable opportunity for young minds to explore the diverse career avenues in the tech sector.

What makes these initiatives even more exciting is the active involvement of partners from various business sectors. The council’s collaborative approach ensures that the benefits of these events extend far and wide, enhancing the tech ecosystem of Longview. With its commitment to knowledge sharing and community development, the Longview Chamber’s Technology Council is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the realm of technology and innovation.
