Become a Champion for a Thriving Community Through Leadership Longview Leadership Longview Project Provides Opportunity for Advocacy Each year, the Leadership Longview class members choose a project to take on for a non-profit I the community. In the process of choosing and then carrying out the project, class members learn how to become an advocate for the organization by raising funds, handling permitting with the city, and becoming a strong promoter of the work of the organization. The 2021 Leadership Longview Class selected Heartisans Marketplace as their project. Heartisans was in need of a shelter or pavilion between two buildings at their new location on Gilmer Road. This will allow staff and clients to move from one building to the next while avoiding the elements of the outdoors. In addition to the covering, the class built a pergola with picnic benches, a decorative plant holder, and painted a mural to beautify the building. The project was unveiled on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 4:30 pm, Applications for the Class of 2022 Being Accepted Now! with a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony.
