2012–2013 Performance Series With the same innovative spirit that has been at the heart of Longwood for over 100 years, we scoured the globe to bring you performances this season with an international flare, featuring seven Grammy Award winners. Delight in the spectacular jazz, organ, and classical performances you love, while sampling a new lineup of artists in our A World of Music Series. Globe-trotting doesn’t stop there as we debut the Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition, where young artists compete for the world’s largest organ prize. Our world of arts awaits…

A World of Music Series Open yourself up to new worlds and embark on a journey of Celtic lore, flamenco fusion, tribal vocals, classic Americana, and more. We present international artists from Spain, Ireland, the US, South Africa, and more in this diverse series.
Carillon Series Meet The Longwood Carillon, an instrument that spans the ages. Our Carillon, crafted in The Netherlands, features 62 cast bells that ring throughout the Gardens.
Classical Series Akin to classical garden design steeped in tradition yet made fresh in our horticultural displays, our classical series presents some of today’s best artists making masterworks for the piano, violin, voice, and chamber ensemble new again.
Jazz Series This season’s series features classy veterans who have set the standard to young lions taking the jazz scene by storm, all capturing the spirit of jazz that knows no boundaries in exhilarating, intimate performances.
Organ Series The Longwood Organ is among the world’s great concert organs, with 146 ranks and 10,010 pipes. Newly restored in 2011, the organ captures an orchestral sound like no other. Hear it played by the most talented organists of today in our Ballroom.
OrKID Day Series OrKID Days are fun for the whole family and help our youngest visitors appreciate gardens through music! Enjoy a free family concert and explore orchids first-hand at discovery stations.

We’ll put the stars in your eyes this holiday season as you wander through half a million twinkling lights, thousands of poinsettias and magnificent Christmas trees. Listen as organists share the sounds of the season and beautifully lit fountains dance in our starry holiday wonderland. Free and ticketed concerts are presented daily. Buy before you arrive · Timed admission tickets required · Tickets limited Admission to A Longwood Christmas is by timed admission ticket only. There is no admittance to the Gardens without a timed admission ticket. Encourage your friends and family to buy tickets in advance at longwoodgardens.org or by calling 610.388.1000 to avoid disappointment. Tickets are limited. Once you enter the Gardens, you may stay as long as you wish.

Together Conte and Filsell will perform an arrangement of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 for organ and piano.

International Organ Competition June 18–22, 2013
Organists from around the globe compete in the inaugural Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition for the $40,000 Pierre S. du Pont First Prize, the largest cash prize of any organ competition in the world. Experience the preliminary and final round as 10 of the organ world’s brightest young talents compete before a panel of renowned judges in a quest for the top prize.
