Nothing short of magic is in the air this summer. From our all-new Drones & Fountains Shows soaring through the sky … to our vibrant Illuminated Fountain Performances adding a whole new dimension to our Main Fountain Garden … to brilliant blooms filling our Gardens with breathtaking beauty … to starlit evenings spent in our Beer Garden … our ever-exciting, always-stunning experiences are a breath of fresh air this season. Summer—and all of its possibilities— is in the air.

See the Main Fountain Garden sky as you’ve never seen it before. With choreographed drones flying into amazing aerial formations and our dancing fountains of infinite colors, our new Drones & Fountains Shows are here to amaze.

Members and Innovators: $10

Children (ages 4 and under) are free.

Membership expiration date must be active through event date to obtain Member pricing.

Gardens1 Members may purchase one Drones & Fountains Show ticket at the $10 rate; Garden2 Members up to two tickets at the $10 rate; Gardens5 and Gardens Preferred Members up to five tickets at the $10 rate; and Gardens

Premium Members and Innovators up to nine tickets at the $10 rate.

If purchasing more Drones & Fountains Show tickets than outlined above, Members receive 10% off.

Lawn Seating Only: Guests are required to bring their own chair. Sitting on the ground or on a blanket will not be permitted in the performance venue.

Non-Member pricing for Drones & Fountains Shows is as follows:

Ages 19 and over: $35

Seniors and College Students: $32 Active or Retired US Military or US Veteran: $28

Youth (ages 5–18): $23

Children (ages 4 and under): Free

All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. Shows will proceed in rain. Tickets are limited and sell out is likely. On the evening of a show, Gardens close at 6 pm to everyone but Drones & Fountains Show ticketholders. Chairs are permitted in the Gardens beginning at 12 pm.

Fountain Fun is in the Air

Our iconic Main Fountain Garden delights with playful daytime shows and our always-exuberant Illuminated Fountain Performances. Soak up this summer’s new performances as our fountains dance along to songs from animated movie classics, to favorite sports movies, to the music of icons David Bowie to Taylor Swift to Rachmaninov, and so much more.

Fountain performances free with Gardens Admission. Check longwoodgardens.org for performance details, as well as real-time ticket and reservation availability prior to your visit. Chairs and blankets are permitted in the gardens beginning at 12 pm on Illuminated Fountain Performance dates. Chairs and blankets may be used on the lawn areas throughout the Main Fountain Garden to enjoy the Illuminated Fountain Performance.

Dine alfresco with family and friends in our Beer Garden. Enjoy Victory Brewing Company’s seasonal wheat ales throughout the season, along with tasty pub fare and live music to set the tone.

Learn some of the essential Bollywood dance steps during interactive, family-friendly sessions with the Daksha Dance Troupe in our Pumphouse Plaza (6:30 pm and 7:30 pm), climb to the top of the Chimes Tower for a stunning view of Longwood’s 62-bell carillon and the surrounding landscape (5–8 pm), enjoy live Bollywood music in the Beer Garden (6–8:45 pm), and enjoy themed concessions in The Café. Conclude your evening with our Bollywood Blockbusters Illuminated Fountain Performance (9:15 pm).

Mother’s Day Weekend

Thursday, May 11–Sunday, May 14

Gather the family for spectacular evening fountain performances

Thursday through Saturday when the Gardens are open until 10 pm, or enjoy a Sunday stroll when the Gardens are open until 6 pm. On Friday evening, join us in the Orchard near the Meadow Garden for the Curtis Symphony Orchestra performance at 7 pm. (Turn to the 2023 Summer Performance Series pages of this brochure for more information.) On Sunday, guitar duo Chris Braddock and Dan Graper play in the Conservatory from 12 to 3 pm. Free timed Member reservations are required after 3 pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, except for Gardens Premium Members and Innovators; no timed Member reservations are required on Sunday.

Members-only Evening

Sunday, May 21

6–10 pm

Join us for an exclusive Membersonly evening with a short fountain performance (7 pm), a free concert in the Orchard with indie-rock band The Natural Lines (7–8:15 pm), and our Come As You Are: 90s Illuminated Fountain Performance (9 pm). Enjoy a 10% discount in The Garden Shop, The Café, and 1906, and on concessions.

No timed reservations required for Members-only Evenings. Member guests are welcome but must be accompanied by a Member. Guests not included in a Membership require admission tickets. Complimentary Guest Tickets may be used on these evenings. Chairs and blankets permitted starting at 5 pm.

Pennsylvania Native Species Day

Saturday, May 20

Join us for the second annual Pennsylvania Native Species Day— which falls on May 18 but we’re celebrating May 20—with a variety of walks and talks, including a Meadow Ecology Walk at 11:30 am; Wildflower Walk at 12:30 pm; Using Native Plants in Your Home Garden Walk at 1:30 pm; and Explore Our Native Ecosystems talks in the Meadow Garden from 2 to 5 pm.

Join storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston as she performs selections from her vast repertoire of stories and songs from the African and African American oral traditions using a variety of instruments during this event designed for general audiences and families with children.

2023 Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition

Preliminary Rounds:

June 20–21 at 2 and 7 pm

Final Round:

June 24 at 12 and 6 pm

Experience the excitement as 10 bright young talents compete for the largest cash prize of any organ competition in the world while playing the Longwood Organ—one of the world’s largest Aeolian pipe organs. Festive Friday: Make Some Noise

Friday, June 30 5–10 pm

It’s all about music with our June Festive Friday! Make your own music with keyboards set up around the Gardens (5–9 pm), climb to the top of the Chimes Tower for a stunning view of Longwood’s 62-bell carillon and the surrounding landscape (5–8 pm), and enjoy themed concessions. Sway along to the eclectic acoustic sound of the [mma] project in our Beer Garden (6–8:45 pm) and continue the fun with The Piano Men—our Illuminated Fountain Performance homage to Billy Joel and Elton John (9:15 pm). Chrysanthemum Festival

We stretch our horticultural limits by nurturing and training specialty chrysanthemum forms bursting with color and beauty—and ready for you to enjoy. Outside, explore our painted vistas, engage in family fun in our Garden Railway, and be awed by autumn at every turn.

Admission to Festival of Fountains is by Timed Admission Ticket only. Buy your tickets before you arrive as sell out is likely.

Members and Innovators: Free Members require free timed reservations if arriving after 3 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout Festival of Fountains except on Drones & Fountains Shows dates when special event tickets are required. Gardens Premium Members and those included in their Membership level, as well as Innovators, do not require reservations.

Longwood Gardens covers many acres. There are no shuttles within the Gardens. We’re happy to offer non-motorized wheelchairs, electric scooters, and children’s strollers on a first-come basis. Children’s strollers are available for a fee (complimentary for Members). Supply limited, reservations not accepted. Scooters are not available during rainy, snowy, or freezing weather.
