IT was Penistone Church who came out on top as they clashed with Stocksbridge Park Steels in the annual Purdie Cup. Second half goals from Sam Scrivens and Ash Ellis steered Church to a 2-0 win against their higher-league rivals. A crowd of 219 turned out to watch the game unfold and the deadlock was broken on 55 minutes through Scrivens and Ellis doubled the lead just six minutes later.
