Hillsborough stab victim dies
THE family of a Sheffield man who died following an altercation in the Hillsborough area of Sheffield have released a picture of him.
Gavin Singleton, 31, was taken to hospital in the early hours of Sunday September 23, after he was left injured following an altercation on Walkley Lane.
He remained critically ill in hospital but sadly died on the morning of Saturday October 6.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Monday October 8 concluded that Mr Singleton died as a result of a stab wound to the chest.
His family are being supported by specialist officers and have released a picture of Mr Singleton as they ask that their privacy is respected during this incredibly difficult time.
The investigation in to Mr Singleton’s death continues. A 29-year-old man was also injured during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment but released shortly afterwards.
Daniel Trotter, 24, of nofixed-address, was charged with attempted murder, section 18 wounding, supply of controlled drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in connection to the incident. He has been remanded into custody.
