THIEF STEALS FROM FUNDRAISING KIDS AS TWO HONESTY TINS RAIDED IN SAME NIGHT
TWO children who have been raising money for new musical instruments for their school have been left heartbroken after a cruel thief stole their collection tin. Joshua and Amelia Goss have been selling their own free range eggs. They have chickens at home which they look after, clean and feed themselves, despite being aged only eight and five.
They have been selling there eggs in an honesty box at the family farm for the last few months, also selling them regularly to school parents and teachers. But a visitor to the farm broke into the box on Saturday night and helped himself to the contents at Greenmoor. However, upon hearing of the incident, one kind person has
offered a donation of £150 to buy gardening equipment for the next fundraiser. On the same night, the honesty box at K Stuart and Sons was also raided, with the culprit caught on CCTV. The car the thief was in was also captured on screen. It appears to be a VW Passat estate with a possible registration number starting with PL05 or 06 but should be easily recognisable with the dents to the side which make it fairly unique. On Facebook, K Stuart and Sons posted: “The annoying thing is we have a load of 5mp HD cameras that I haven’t got round to installing yet due to not having time or when I had time choosing to sleep instead.
“Also last night, another honesty box belonging to two children in Greenmoor selling their free range eggs was smashed and the money taken. “The funny thing about ours was that he put his 70p in the tin to pay for the bottle of milk he took, went back to the car and then came back for the tin. “As l said before the car it’s very unique even without the registration number and I’m sure someone will recognise it. “The 24/7 self service system we’ve run for the last five years has worked very well with this being only the third major incident so we won’t put up with it. “Any information would be greatly appreciated and I guarantee your name will be kept out of it.”
