Small Business The local Showcase is an tradition that nearly event for all stopped! the family

Local business woman Becka Roebuck, 33 has organised a small business showcase in her hometown of Penistone. Becka told Look Local “There really will be something for everyone with many stalls to browse and buy from on the day. Amongst the delights on offer will be children’s activities, jewellery, cosmetics and fragrance, butchers, travel agents and much, much more!

The aim is to spread the word about what great things we have available in our community that maybe people who don’t use social media have no idea about. Many of our retailers are online businesses - but we want to connect with those who may not use the internet, who want to see a smiling face and talk to us about our products - what better way than creating an event for the whole community?” The event will be opened at midday by Penistone’s Mayor, Gillian Milner

STANNINGTON CARNIVAL 2019 Asda Support boost Stannington Carnival Organisers of 2019’s Stannington Carnival met managers at Asda’s Chaucer Road superstore to collect a cheque for £1,000 from the ASDA Foundation. These funds will support the organisation costs of the annual event, so freeing more of its income on the day for distribution to local good causes. In 2018,

the event raised more than £5,000 which was shared between fifteen organisations who provide access for people from Stannington and beyond to a wide range of sporting, social and cultural activities. It is hoped that Asda’s generous contribution will help 2019’s total be even greater.
