Pottery to pop up in Fox Valley

TWENTY potters and ceramic artists from the Yorkshire and Derbyshire area are coming together to showcase their work at Fox Valley in Stocksbridge on Sunday August 23 from 10am to 3pm.

The Pop-Up Pottery event has been organised by The Northern Potters Association which exists to promote the work of potters, ceramic artists and clay sculptors throughout the North of England.

And some of the very best are coming to this event including Fangfoss Pottery, Steve Ellis, John Hudson and Caroline Lee, to name just a few.

This year it has been very difficult for craft-workers to exhibit their work with galleries, tourist sites, gift shops and craft fairs all closed due to the Covid 19 virus. This may well be the first, but hopefully not the last, opportunity for many of them to get out and display their work.

This Pop-Up Pottery fair will be a good opportunity for the public to meet up with the makers, see their work – to discuss how things are made, what inspires their creations and perhaps even to purchase something unique.

Although it is still summer, Christmas lurks on the horizon.

All sorts of ceramics will be on display – from the functional mugs, jugs and vases, through to the purely decorative and artistic work. Everyone is welcome.
