Wind and Rain Disrupts Golf The recent wind and rains have disrupted the winter golfing season at Stocksbridge Golf Club. Golfers at the club are a hardy bunch but when the storms of the last week of January hit, it made the playing conditions at 1000 feet above sea level course very tricky. Yet there were still some that braved the difficult conditions to play in the latest round of the Club Winter Cup on 29 January. Phil Beaumont (21) added to his lead in the overall competition, winning this leg with 33 points. Eric Wilkinson (9), Malcolm Ingles (18) and Rob Betts (11) all came in with the same score as Phil, but finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on countback.
