Man sleeps in graveyard
On Monday night a man slept in the graveyard at Christ Church Stocksbridge. His name is Tim Renshaw and he is the head of the Archer Project under the Cathedral in Sheffield.
He is sleeping out in 16 churchyards in Sheffield, through October, sometimes with homeless friends, to raise awareness of the problem of homelessness.
He met with people from across Stocksbridge, to tell stories of homelessness, discuss the issues around it and a lively discussion was had over a Chinese takeaway.
Rev Ian Lucraft, minister at Christ Church, said; “The people who shared this event went away very moved by the stories of Tim’s friends and colleagues. We are fearful that homelessness may increase in coming months, and it is important that we support those who work among homeless people and speak up for the needs of people who are affected.”
