London’s O2 wass International Female Solo Artist nom minee Lizzo, who wore a chocolate-wrrapper-inspired dress by Jeremy S cott for Moschino. Meanwhile, two-time Brit Award winner Ellie Goulding dazzled in a patchwork k dress by Koché. Billiee Eilish – wearing Burberry from head to toe to nails – received rapturous applau use after performing the theme song for the next Bond fi film No Time to Die. The US singer-songwriter, who turn ned 18 in December, later becaame emotional when accepting her award for International Female Solo Artist from former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm. Addressing the audience, she said: “I’ve felt very hated reccently and when I was on the stage an d I saw you guys all smiling at me, itt genuinely made me want to cry, and I want to cry right now.”
Singer Mabel, who opened the show with her 2019 hit Don’t Call Me Up, was accompanied to the event by her singer-songwriter mother Neneh Cherry. Accepting the gong for British Female Solo Artist, Mabel said: “I had the honour today of walking the red carpet with my amazin ng mum, ok home and it’s exactly 30 years today since she too two of these, and performed on this stage e, so it’s a very special night.”
