Darwin Brewery has been based in North Shields since 2022 and is focussed on making high quality, tasty cask beer. Founded in 1994 in Sunderland, Darwin has had several different sites over the years. The Brewery has a range of five core beers in cask and one lager, Tall Ship, in keg.
EXPEDITION
Hopped with Citra and Cascade for grapefruit, mango, lychee and lime aromas and flavour.
EVOLUTION
Gently hopped with Willamette for some floral, blackcurrant notes which complement the grain.
RARE STOUT
A smooth, full-bodied stout. Brewed with strong malts including chocolate and infused with vanilla.
ROLLING HITCH
Includes Crystal malt, balanced with the finest Amarillo hops, for orange, peach and pink grapefruit hop notes.

PHEASANTRY BREWERY

A modern yet traditional micro-brewery situated on High Brecks Farm. Records show that the farm had a brewery in the late 17th century. In 2012 they converted the original farm buildings into a modern micro brewery. The brewery’s name is derived from the cottage next to the brewery which original maps show was a Pheasantry used for breeding and rearing game birds.

A classic English amber ale. Malty, hoppy, soft and moreish.

Bright golden orange with a pungent punch and an expeditious use of the Citra hop. A bold balanced beer.
AURORA
Easy-drinking golden ale with a subtle lemon, tangerine and gooseberry flavours and a delicate spice finish.

The palest golden beer packed with peachy, exotic fruit flavours. Dangerously drinkable.
TWISTED BARREL

Twisted Barrel Ale exploded onto the Coventry beer scene on 29th March 2014. After months of hard work developing a small selection of beers that would appeal to Coventry’s patrons thirsting for their unique mix of modern and classical styles and methods, they launched their beers at Coventry’s number 1 bottle bar, Inspire, and it was a huge success.

Golden caramel in colour and liberally hopped with Bramling Cross for a spicy, blackcurrant flavour.
REQUIEM
A full body and generously hopped with Sabro hops for a Pina Colada character.
YESHUA
A special blend of six malts brings a roasted character and dry finish to this traditional dry stout.
