Marissa Goss served as a District Manager for the Cato Corporation’s Fashion/Metro Division covering Atlanta, Tennessee and Alabama for 17 years before coming to Lori’s. She found the position rewarding, saying, “Being able to develop employees through training and see them move forward in different roles in the company was very challenging but worth it every minute.”

Marissa came to Lori’s in January 2020, and says it is a company set apart from any other retailers. She loves that Lori’s allows her to be creative, to be more personal with guests, to have fun, and above all, that Lori’s gives back. “The way they give is the example of who we are, and that is the Heart of the Hospital. Loris doesn’t leave anyone out when giving — employees included,” she said. Lori’s is the first company she has been with that truly recognizes each employee’s gifts and talents, constantly producing ways to acknowledge others. Marissa says, “My team is a tremendous part of keeping the Loris dream alive. The way they put their time, effort and hard work into keeping the Loris way is so, so good to see and be a part of.”

CONGRATS TO OUR

Lori’s Gifts is thrilled to announce our new “Make Your Mark” Award recipient! Congratulations to Sonia Martinez , Store #79 Manager at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York City.

Nominations came in from co-workers, customers, and our Hospital Partner to share how Sonia’s remarkable energy and kindess touch so many lives with every interaction. Her team members note that Sonia has

a 90-minute commute in New York traffic every morning, but always arrives filled with energy, and a contagious joyfulness for serving others. Even on the toughest days, guests leave the gift shop feeling uplifted and encouraged.

Lori’s management team flew to New York to present the Make Your Mark Award to Sonia. Senior VP of Operations, Jeff Gloor stated, “She typifies who we want to be as a company in her ability to leave lasting impressions on everyone she meets.”

Winners of the Make Your Mark Award receive a glass heart trophy, recognition, two extra PTO days, a local hotel stay, and dinner and a movie. The award is an icon

of Lori’s commitment to empowering teams to give their best to Guests, Partners and each other in the same way Sonia Martinez does!
