Friday, March 6, from 4 - 6pm as we gather key community members in a Design CharreƩe to help us imagine a new, interacƟve, hands-on Art & Design space in the Arts Council’s Mainstreet Gallery.
It is our plan to engage our educators, local arƟsts and design firms as partners in this ArtVenture so that our spcace becomes a desƟnaƟon for learning about and experiencing the principles of art and design through interacƟve play, creaƟve projects, and exhibiƟons.
CreaƟvity is central to everyday life, and art and design are central to crea vity. Art and design drive imagina on, innova on and understanding of a bigger world. West Michigan has developed a reputa on for excellence in art – and par cularly design.
What we want to accomplish at the CharreƩe: • • • •
Introduce community members to the idea of a Hands-On Art & Design Space. Get perspec ves on what could be offered in ArtVenture Brainstorm ways to integrate K-12 curriculum support into ArtVenture Recruit volunteers for the development and building of ArtVenture I hear and I forget I see and I remember I do and I understand ~Chinese Proverb
