Los Angeles - The Rams (3-4) return to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for the first time in 28 days as they host the Carolina Panthers (2-5) in a Week 9 contest. Jeff Fisher coached teams have won 11 games following their bye weeks, the third-most wins after a bye among active NFL head coaches, trailing only Andy Reid (KC) and Bill Belichick (NE). Historically, the Rams have had late-season success in the Coliseum, holding a 41-20-1 record in the venue for the month of November and a 38-22-1 record in games played in December at the Coliseum. Most recently, the Rams enjoyed a bye week P Johnny Hekker after completing a 10-day road trip which featured games in Detroit, Mich., and London, covering nearly 11,000 miles in 10 days. In the team’s Week 7 contest against the New York Giants as part of the NFL’s International Series, the Rams’ efforts came up short, falling by a score of 17-10 after jumping out to an early 10-0 lead. WR Brian Quick had his best game of the season, finishing with 92 yards on four receptions. This marks the 20th time the two franchises have faced off in the regular season, Carolina holds a 11-8 regular season advantage. The Panthers handed the Rams a 29-23 loss in the Divisional Round of the 2004 NFL Playoffs, the lone contest between the two teams in postseason action.
