SATURDAY COURSES AND ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 7-16 The activity sessions are designed to help you develop new skills, build confidence and make new friends. Classes run for four weeks on Saturday mornings from 9.30 - 12.30 in: • Games Development – create your own digital imagery to design your own unique game • Art – use painting, modelling, dyeing and printing techniques to create your own pieces for an exhibition • Photography – a chance to explore the many different ways of creating images indoors, outdoors and in a studio environment • Music technology – create your own music using apple mac technology • Fashion Design – a chance to explore the world of fashion and learn some tricks of the trade

Discover your talents with LIPA 4:19 is a part-time performing arts academy that gives 4 to 19-year-olds the opportunity to sing, dance and act. It is an extension of The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, which was co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney. We offer fun and engaging weekend multidisciplinary performing arts classes over three terms each school year.

Thank you for picking up the latest issue of Lots for Tots Derby. This magazine will help to brighten up the cold Winter months with events from January to the end of March. There is more happening than you think over the next few months, with February Half Term, Valentine’s Day, Pancake Day and Mother’s Day. There are also lots of new classes launching at the start of this New Year as well as plenty from our regular advertisers. This year is set to be another brilliant year for Lots for Tots as we welcome the arrival of Bec who is the new Editor of Lots for Tots North Derbyshire and Dee of North Birmingham. Their first issues will be out in the Spring! The Bump to Five Show is back for 2014 and our 5th show will be held on Saturday 10th May at the Gateway Centre, Derbyshire County Cricket Ground. Our Gymnastics and Ducklings Learn to S carerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s to be active and healthy with their

Gymnastics Our Gymnastic classes help child development by increasing confidence, agility, balance and coordination. There are two classes available as part of the Derby City Council Gymnastics pathway: Walking to 3 years old These classes are a parent participation class where children can explore the soft play and gymnastics equipment. They will learn through play whilst singing songs, dancing and using hand held equipment. Children will build confidence on the equipment whilst learning basic movements which are the building blocks for a wide range of sports. 3 to 5 years old In these themed independent classes children can try handstands, cartwheels, backward rolls, bar beam and vaulting. They will develop coordination and increase confidence and strength through fun activities. Classes available at Springwood Leisure Centre and Moorways Sports Complex. Swim sessions are a fun way for parents or little ones aged under five.

Ducklings Our Ducklings Learn to Swim classes are for babies and younger children to explore and enjoy the fun of learning to swim. With the help of parent or carer, the Duckling classes will build children’s water confidence using a variety of songs, toys and floating aids. The classes are separated into different age groups, 3 to 18 months, 18 to 36 months and 3 to 5 years. Ducklings can start children on the Learn to Swim pathway and begin an early enjoyment of an active lifestyle. Classes available at Queen’s Leisure Centre and Moorways Swimming Pool. enny Raphael teaches the International Association of Infant Massage classes at the Bridge Centre, in Mickleover. These classes are designed to be handson where the basic nurturing skills of infant massage and therapeutic touch will be taught, demonstrated and practised. Baby massage is a fun, relaxed and enjoyable way to spend quality one to one time with your baby. It can also help with colic, trapped wind and constipation, some parents even find it helps their baby to settle and sleep longer. It’s also a great

way to meet other parents. Jenny also runs a Complementary Therapy business from Belper and offers one to one sessions or small groups from her therapy room there. Lots for Little Minds... The first International Kadampa Primary School in the world opens in South Derbyshire
