Make Christmas Magical for a child that you know This year the NSPCC have again teamed up with Santa to send personalised letters to your child nywhere in the world for a suggested donation of £5 per letter. When you request a letter from Santa there are many options to personalise them, parents can choose from several enchanting Christmas stories and personalise the letter to include their child’s name, age, best friend, gender and a personalised message. The age categories (1-3, 4-5, 6+, ‘baby’s first’ and ‘grownup’ letter) ensure the letter is easier to read for younger kids, and longer for more advanced readers. Once your theme is chosen you can then customise it with your child’s name, age at Christmas, whether they are a boy or girl as well as achievements in the past year. Those that prefer to use the term Father Christmas instead of Santa get the option to sign the letter from him instead. NSPCC runs Childline in the UK and the money raised from the Letters from Santa helps sustain this service. Every £5
raised by Letter from Santa helps ChildLine be there whenever a child seeks help either online or by phone. All the letters are posted out in early December. If you’re ordering more than one letter for the same address, they’ll be posted together and arrive in a large Rudolph-themed envelope, addressed to ‘The Children’. www.nspcc.org.uk

Derby Community Parent Programme Parent Carers Together At Derby Community Parent Programme, we recognise that for many people becoming a parent brings a whole mix of emotions. We offer a whole range of support services, to help with your parenting journey, no matter what path it takes. Nobody needs to feel alone, there is support out there for you. Our volunteers run free weekly coffee mornings at various locations, where expectant parents, mums, dads and grandparents and carers are all welcome to come along and share parenting experiences… the good, the bad and the ugly! The kettle is 8TH (90x66mm) PrInT always on and everybody is made to feel welcome. Please see our Facebook Page for dates and times. No need to book, just drop in as and when you feel like it.
Derby City residents also have the opportunity to be matched to a specifically suited, highly trained volunteer, to provide specialist pregnancy, labour & birth, and early parenting support. Our volunteers undergo 26 weeks of training from a huge variety of health professionals, including the Senior Midwife at Derby Royal Hospital, in order to ensure that they are providing evidence based, up to date information. We can be there to support you in deciding what is right for your journey into parenthood, and we can even be there during labour, at the birth and in the early days of becoming a parent. If you would like to be considered for a pregnancy pal or birth buddy, please ask your midwife, click on the link on our facebook page, call us on 01332 888094 or email us ripcic. dcpp@nhs.net. If you are interested in volunteering for us then please email us at ripcic. dcpp@nhs.net , or send us a message via our facebook page. If you would like to help with our fundraising to support the programme, please see our facebook page for a variety of ways that you can do this. Facebook.com/DERBYCPP
