The Daisy Foundation Classes, workshops and group sessions that meet the needs of expectant mums and new parents from early pregnancy right through to toddlerhood
Whatever stage of pregnancy or early parenting you are at, whether it be antenatal classes or pregnancy yoga, baby massage or breastfeeding support you seek – your Daisy Teacher has the perfect class, workshop or session to give you the confidence and knowledge you need at every step of the journey. Daisy Birthing is a weekly class for expectant mums to help you enjoy pregnancy, stay mobile, learn about your changing baby and body, and prepare for a confident birth. When it comes to the early (or in fact any) stage of pregnancy, any number of emotions can overwhelm us: excitement, fear, anxiety, delight, uncertainty, confusion – and these may well be ever-changing! Daisy Birthing helps expectant mums enjoy a positive pregnancy and prepare for a confident birth. This first step of your continuous perinatal support blends all the best elements of pregnancy yoga, active birth and hypnobirthing. Daisy Parent is a comprehensive workshop series for expectant parents designed to ensure you have all the education, tools and support you could need as you prepare confidently for your 20
upcoming birth and the early days of caring for your new baby. When it comes to preparing for your baby’s birth and caring for their needs in the early days, any number of emotions can overwhelm us. There are so many confusing guides, check lists, shopping lists, experts and education that it can be hard to know where to start, let alone be on the same page with your partner! Daisy Parent helps you and your partner not only prepare for a confident birth but prepare for confident parenting in the eary days of caring for your newborn baby. Daisy Parent is a 15 hour course taught over 4 or 6 weeks and can also be offered privately. Daisy Baby Tinies is a weekly postnatal class for mum and baby in the ‘fourth trimester’ to help you learn how to use baby massage and movement to aid calming, soothing and connection with your baby. When it comes to the new days and weeks of motherhood, any number of emotions can overwhelm us: Joy, anxiety, delight, fatigue, happiness, uncertainty, isolation or perhaps even low mood or challenging feelings. Wrigglers helps mum and baby (or baby’s other carer) enjoy a relaxed, fun and safe journey together at this exciting time in their development. Tiddlekicks Learn, Play, Grow Tiddlekicks offer football coaching sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. Tiddlekicks aim to provide children with structured, planned sessions to help them to develop a variety of skills that improve their physical development and provide them with a great introduction to ball skills. Based on the fundamentals of football, the sessions offer so much more than just teaching children the basics of football. All sessions use
a variety of equipment, including skittles, hoops that have been specially designed for your child to learn soccer skills, numeracy, colour recognition, balance, coordination and social skills. Regardless of whether your child is the strongest, biggest or fastest in a group, they aim to improve your childs agility, balance and coordination, in a non-competitive environment, so that they can maximise their individual potential. www.tiddlekicks.co.uk

Tiny Talk Baby Signing and Toddler Talking Connect with your baby, Chat with your child Signing gives tiny people the means to express themselves long before they are able to do so verbally. This alleviates the guess-work on the parent’s behalf, and the frustration on the child’s part, making for a happier, calmer family dynamic. Classes also give parents and carers somewhere they can come and sit, and chat and get to know people if they want to (there is social time after every class for play and grown-ups to have a drink and talk), or just to sit quietly and take time for themselves. TinyTalk Toddler Talking classes are active, and are best suited to little ones who are confident walkers and happy to be in a
lively environment - usually from around 18 months. Like the baby classes, they cover a new theme each week, use lots of fun props and sing all the children’s favourite songs! In addition to using BSL signs to help little ones communicate more easily, the toddler classes also have a strong focus on supporting developing speech, as well as working on social skills such as taking turns, following instructions, teamwork and sharing. You still get tea and biscuits and a chance to chat while the little ones play with different themed toys each week; it’s a great way to spend quality time with your small people while hanging out with like-minded bigger people!
www.tinytalk.co.uk
Join the UK’s favourite baby signing classes and help your child learn how to communicate before they can talk. Signing babies are happy babies, able to express their needs, wants and feelings. What does your baby want to tell you?
“Fantastic class that my son and I truly love!” “Educational. entertaining and enthusiastic baby signing classes.” “Watching babies start to communicate is amazing.” “Partytastic classes!” “Friendly and always happy to see each other alk.co.uk and every child!” “Baby signing akwood, Allestree is wonderful - and so worthwhile, giving your baby ‘a voice’.” Your nearest TinyTalk Baby Signing and Toddler Talking classes are held at: nytalk.co.uk

Derby PoD
(Parents of Derby) The PoD will be a hub based in the city centre, with all kinds of parent support services available The PoD is the brain child of Kia from Cariad Babi. She is passionate about the environment, about informed choice and about supporting each other, parent to parent.
workshop space to groups such as breastfeeding support, mental health support and parent support classes who then offer free spaces to their Cariad’s Inclusive Community (CIC) Members, and more.
Cariad Babi is an on line eco store who use 100% of their profits from retailing eco-friendly products to support parents. They have done some amazing things in our community already, and have an abundance of moral support behind them: from local small businesses to Derby City Council, even to the Mayor! They believe there should be fair access to services, regardless of income, and in February 2020 they will be opening the PoD where they will have baby groups, support groups in mental health, infant feeding, clothing banks, clubs and more.
Projects they already fund include cloth nappy and sling hire and very low cost eco-products that some families wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. It doesn’t make sense to exclude low income families from environmentally friendly shopping that could save them money in the future!
They plan to continue to use the profits of the Eco Store to offer free
By shopping in the Eco Store, which will also be at The PoD, you will directly support the community as they continue to reinvest the profits. If this wasn’t already amazing, you don’t even have to have shopped there to be welcome at The PoD. Whether you simply wake up and just need to get out the house, or would like to pop in for help with your own sling, hire one or ask about eco products, you will always be welcome. The PoD will be opening in February in Liversage Street. If you are interested in volunteering at The PoD, hiring it, or even helping them paint it, please get in touch! cariadbabi.com/thepod

Welcome to Titchy Town – an interactive role play centre based in South Derbyshire. Titchy Town is an indoor play village designed especially for little ones up to 8 years of age. Children can freely explore six different play zones Titchy Town is designed to allow your child’s imagination to run wild whilst they role play in a safe environment. You can participate in your child’s play, or just sit back and watch them learn as you enjoy a mug of freshly brewed tea or coffee and an amazing homemade cake from our little coffee shop.
Where are we?
How it works
We are based on the site of Scallywags Private Day Nursery in Chellaston (Rowallan Way, DE73 5WX). Please use the Scallywags car park and you will find the entrance to Titchy Town off Rowallan Way by following the signs. Disabled and pushchair access is available.
Titchy Town works on a roll up, pay and play basis with sessions lasting 90 minutes. On your first entry you will be issued a loyalty card and for every nine sessions you attend you will receive your 10th entry free of charge! Payment is cash only until we establish if a card machine is required.
