Welcome to Issue 51... What strange times we live in at the moment. As you probably noticed - there wasn’t a summer issue but we’re glad to be back bringing you the latest news and what’s on for families with children aged under 5. Things are obviously different, but there are still events, groups and classes going on. Some businesses are putting on extra sessions, some are online and some are planning their return! The Lots on Weekly pages contain significantly fewer activities, groups and classes but don’t be sad! There are some lovely ‘COVID Safe’ events planned for Halloween and Christmas, and there are many classes and groups running, but you may need to travel a bit further for them and you will almost certainly need to book. Rest assured, I will be keeping my eyes peeled and will be updating the website and making a noise on Facebook and Instagram as soon as I spot another business or group returning. The next issue will be out in 2021 - so until then I wish you all a Happy Halloween and a Merry Christmas!

Protect your Child against Flu this Winter It’s more important then ever to access the Free vaccine this Flu season Do I have to pay? No! The NHS offers a free nasal spray flu vaccine to all eligible children in England aged 2 and 3 years old, school children in Reception to Year 7, and those eligible between ages 2-17 years.

How do I access the Flu vaccination? Contact your child’s GP if your child was two or three years old on 31 August and if you haven’t heard from them by early November.

Why should I vaccinate against ﬂu? Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications. Vaccinating your child will not only protect them but it will also stop the spread among vulnerable friends and family.

If your child is at primary school you will need to fill in an electronic consent form. Contact your child’s school for more details.

The Breastfeeding Network Independent Peer Support and information Volunteers funded by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, trained and coordinated by the The Breastfeeding Network (UK) run virtual drop in groups Monday to Friday.
