‘Little and Large’ Exhibition

26th Nov – 28th Jan 11am –3pm. Falmouth Art Gallery

This intriguing exhibition will explore the nature of scale and will showcase an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary work from 18th Century miniatures to large-scale photorealist paintings. While you are in the gallery why not have a browse for unique Christmas presents and cards in the gallery shop.

Christmas Lights Switch On 1st Dec from 5.30pm. The Moor

Expect children singing, festivities and a Lantern Parade arriving on The Moor from Events Square for the Lights Switch On at 7.00pm. The children’s parade will be accompanied by Father Christmas himself. On The Moor there will be Christmas food and drink, with music from local schools and community groups. This is the first of Falmouth’s late night shopping until 8pm evenings.

Santa’s Grotto

1st Dec 5.30pm – 8pm. Falmouth Library/Art Gallery. The Moor

As part of the lights switch on celebrations the Municipal Building will be hosting a very special visitor, Father Christmas! Bring the children to see Santa in his grotto and collect an early Christmas present from 5.30pm - 8pm. Falmouth Art Gallery will be open during this time so you can browse for gifts in the shop and enjoy the ‘Little and Large’ exhibition.

Amity (friendship) Theatre Company presents The Beauty Sleeping 1st, 2nd, 3rd Dec with a Saturday matinee. 7.30pm evening performances, matinee 2.30pm. Wesley Hall Methodist Church, Falmouth

Will the good witch of the north prevent the bad witch of the south from putting a sleeping curse on the beautiful princess? Will the hero be able to help? Who is the hero? All will be revealed when you come to watch The Beauty Sleeping. A fun-filled family pantomime with song and dance coupled with laughter.

Santa Fun Run

10th Dec. Registration from 11am. Run starts at 1pm. Start/finish The Moor

Men and women, boys and girls, young and old – everyone is welcome to join this Christmas fundraiser. You can choose to run, jog or walk along the route and have a choice of two distances; either one and a half or three miles. Sign up and you will receive a free Santa Suit or Elf outfit! Join us for a mince pie and hot drink after the fun run to continue the merry making. Spaces are limited, so advanced registration is recommended .

Live Nativity

Sun 11th Dec. Leaves Events Square at 1.30pm. Marquee on The Moor open from 12 noon.

Leaving Events Square and walking through to The Moor, stopping at various places for scenes to be acted out, the Live Nativity tells the story of Christmas with animals. The final scene will be played out on The Moor in a marquee with lots of animals from horses to goats, as well as a petting corner. Fun for all ages.

Tanya’s Courage Trust Christmas Fayre 12th Dec 10am – 6pm. The Moor

The Tanya’s Courage Trust are holding a special Christmas fayre. There will be a lovely array of market stalls selling fantastic gifts, a Santa’s Grotto, live music, mulled wine and mince pies. The Flicka Foundation will also be bringing their donkeys along for young and old to enjoy. All monies raised will be used by the Tanya’s Courage Trust to support young people with cancer.

Christmas Movie on The Moor 13th & 14th Dec 6pm each evening. The Moor

Join us for Cornwall Film Festival’s Christmas screenings of Gremlins (12A) and Home Alone (PG) on The Moor, inside a lovely marquee! This will be a fun, festive experience for all ages, fancy dress or your best Christmas jumper is positively encouraged! Refreshments will be provided by Proper Pancakes, including gourmet popcorn, mince pies and other delicious festive treats! You will be able to warm up with hot chocolate, Cornish tea and coffee, plus the option of a Christmas tipple for the over 18’s.

On the 15th December, The snow sisters, Elsa and Anna, will be hosting Frozen in Falmouth; an evening full of fun and magic, along with their princess friends! Make this Christmas one to remember and come along to sing some songs, tell some stories and make wishes come true! All are welcome from far and wide and our princesses hope to see you there! Harmony Choir

Sat 24th Dec 10am – 13.30pm. Various locations in Falmouth finishing on The Moor

The Harmony Choir raises money for good causes by performing throughout the town on Christmas Eve. This Christmas will be the Harmony Choirs’ 117th performance and this Falmouth tradition is 116 years old. Even two world wars couldn’t stop the choir’s Christmas Eve performance. The route beings at the Falmouth Watersports Centre and moves through town to finish on The Moor.
