Welcome to the seventh Falmouth BID funded Falmouth Spring Festival! We are delighted to be sponsoring the Falmouth Spring Festival again this year. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate the start of spring with the rest of the community, and for our students and staff to participate in the town’s activities, especially the spring clean, which always generates a crowd of willing volunteers. The University of Exeter is one of the world’s top 1% of universities and its two Cornwall campuses, in Penryn and Truro, play a key role in that success. We attract more than £16 million of research income into Cornwall every year and that helps to generate employment and a world focus on Cornwall as a centre for education and research. It also means the University of Exeter can invest in the local community, supporting individuals, schools, clubs and businesses.

This also gives us an excuse to remind you that, not only do we share the Penryn Campus with Falmouth University, we also share it with you. Come and walk in the beautiful grounds, filled with many horticultural delights, or call into one of our cafés for a drink and snack. The new sports centre and day nursery are open to all, as are our printing and copying facilities. You can book events and meeting rooms on campus and during the summer the halls of residence are available to let.

We’re delighted to have the University of Exeter sponsoring the event for the second year. Ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide and regularly listed in the UK’s top 10, the University of Exeter have two campuses in Cornwall, one in Penryn, just outside Falmouth, and the other in Truro. Exeter bring a wealth of talent, creativity and imagination to the table and I look forward to working alongside them to deliver a colourful Spring Festival!

So, whether you’re visiting Falmouth from another part of Cornwall or further afield, we hope you have a fantastic time, enjoy the Festival and return to this special part of the world in the near future. Have a good one!

The Falmouth Spring Festival offers a wonderful opportunity for us to continue giving back to the community that has been so supportive of us over the years. We look forward to hosting some fun events and joining together to celebrate all that Falmouth has to offer!
