Welcome to Falmouth Spring Festival 2019, organised by Falmouth BID We are delighted to be sponsoring the Falmouth Spring Festival for the fourth year running. It is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the start of spring with our community, and for our students and staff to participate in the town’s activities, especially the spring clean, which always generates a crowd of willing volunteers.

This also gives us an excuse to remind you that, not only do we share the Penryn Campus with Falmouth University, we also share it with you. Come and walk in the beautiful grounds, filled with many horticultural delights, or call into one of our cafés for a drink and snack. Penryn Campus Sports Centre and Little Wonders day nursery are open to all, as are our printing and copying facilities. You can book events and meeting rooms on campus or come and use the library; there are quiet places to read or you can become a member.

The University of Exeter is one of the world’s top universities and its two Cornwall campuses, in Penryn and Truro, play a key role in that success. The research income that we attract into Cornwall every year helps to generate employment and a world focus on Cornwall as a centre for education and research. It also means the University of Exeter can invest in the local community, supporting individuals, schools, clubs and businesses.

The Falmouth Spring Festival offers a wonderful opportunity for us to continue giving back to the community that has been so supportive of us over the years. We look forward to hosting some fun events and joining together to celebrate all that Falmouth has to offer! To find out more about our activities in Cornwall and how to access the facilities here, visit www.exeter.ac.uk/cornwall

I’m delighted that the University of Exeter will be sponsoring the event once again. Widely recognised for its teaching and research excellence, the University of Exeter has two campuses in Cornwall, one in Penryn near Falmouth, and the other at Treliske, Truro. Exeter bring a wealth of talent, creativity and imagination to the table and I look forward to working alongside them to deliver a colourful Spring Festival! We’re planning a range of lovely activities – Spring Clean Days, Paint the Town Yellow Day, Games & Fitness, Science in the Pub, guided walks and a host more besides!

For all things Falmouth follow. . .

So whether you’re local, visiting Falmouth from another part of Cornwall or further afield, we hope you have a fantastic time, enjoy the Festival and return to this special part of the world in the near future.
