Outdoor Yoga in the Park Thru 8/28

Increase flexibility, improve balance and calm your mind while enjoying the fresh air. Open to all fitness levels: no yoga experience required. Bring a yoga mat or beach towel to these drop-in classes. You may drop in using a Chilson pass (including SilverSneakers® or Renew Active passes) or a 10-Visit pass for these classes. No payments are taken at the park. Instructors vary. Location: Mehaffey Park, 3285 W. 22nd St. (by the playground)

Nature Cabin at Thru 8/25 Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park

Did you know the Nature Cabin at Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park has been set up as a small natural history museum? There are examples of many Colorado native wildlife species; some behind glass, but also many things to touch. Volunteers are eager to answer your questions. Limited capacity inside the cabin; outdoor benches are available for waiting. Take a scenic drive to check out this gem and learn about Colorado wildlife! No registration required. 9/6 Astronomy Night with Northern Colorado Astronomical Society

Join members of the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society (NCAS) for an up-close look at the night sky over the Rockies. Telescopes will be available for viewing stars, galaxies and planets, including Jupiter and Saturn. Dress warmly for evening temperatures and bring binoculars if you have them. Must pre-register. 11/26 #OptOutside Guided Hike

Opt for outside! Join in the fifth annual #OptOutside Mariana Butte Hill Climb on Black Friday. Open Lands & Trails staff and volunteers lead a guided hike along the trails at Mariana Butte and Hidden Hogback, with options to summit the Butte. Dress for the weather. Bring binoculars and cameras, and take in the views from the summit. Please note: the last part of summit climb is steep and has rocky terrain; there may be a wait to summit depending on the number of hikers. Must pre-register.
