Dorothy Roberson is a singer-dancer from Dumas, Arkansas. After performing gospel music for over forty years, she ventured out to other genres of music and started doing songs that were popular and performed by some of her favorites female artists. Thanks to her huge variety of entertaining and engaging diverse audiences,
Dorothy has received a lot of accolades with public and news media. A singer who puts her heart and soul into each and every performance, her audience is always begging for an encore. Although Dorothy’s roots were traditional gospel music, her repertoire has quickly expanded to include hits performed by greats such as Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Roberta Flack, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion and Chaka Khan, to name a few in her performances around the City of Chicago and other U.S. cities.
It is her diverse ability to perform many songs that has made her a favorite with the Chicago community and featured articles in the Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Tribune and Chicago Timeout news publications. Entertaining and motivating a variety of the public is not a new passion for Dorothy; in addition to singing at private events she has also been a repeat performer at university events, hospitals, corporate offices, supper clubs and concert/theater venues. After a painful divorce that caused her to lose her income, home, car and other personal possessions, she decided to use her music skills to regain some of the things she had lost.

Audiences had encouraged Dorothy to sing songs performed by Tina Turner because of their striking physical resemblances and similar hardships in broken relationships. But it wasn’t until performing on the streets of Chicago for survival and then with live local bands as solo front singer that she decided to make music her life dream. All of the different music genres and personal struggles to survive after divorce have positively influenced the singer she is today. Now back to her birthplace, Dumas Arkansas, a rural area of the south is where her love of music began, her love to perform for and motivate people flourished and her genuine care and concern to reach people through singing has grown. Chicago WGN Morning News, Channel 9 was the first TV media to showcase her Tina Turner impersonation. In 2016 Dorothy was interviewed and performed live on Chicago’s Fox News Channel 32, “Good Day Chicago.” Dorothy is sharing her time between enjoying nature and preparing for her next gig. How to Set Goals That Are Achievable
Goal setting is the road to success. Some may accept this fact while others may not. However, this is very true when achieving goals. The more your goal sounds real, the more you are likely to achieve it fast. Yet, a number of people find it difficult to achieve goals even if they are achievable. How do you understand that whether a goal that you set is achievable or not? Here are a number of ways that will help you to create achievable goals. This will make it easier for you to achieve as you step toward your big goals. Discuss the action plans you will take with those who will be with you during your goal achievement days. It is important to involve every person directly related to your goal and ask for his or her suggestions. It is necessary for you to know the reason behind each goal. This is because if you do not know the reason as to why you have set the goal, then you will not feel the necessity to achieve the goal. Break down your achievement goal into small actionable goals. This will make the process accurate and easier for you to achieve. You will get a definite outcome from these small goals. Keep the goals in mind as well as track them manually or with the hundreds of goal tracking apps on your phone. These apps can help you to keep your goals in mind while give you the motivation every day. Just go to your app store and search “goal apps” or “goal setting apps”. Tell you goals to people who will help you achieve them. This way you will be promising to deliver the goals and these people will help monitor your progress and give you critical help when you need it.
