Design is my needle that threads different aspects together to make a cohesive piece.
[ I N T RO D U C T I O N ] For me, there are similarities between being a designer and a tailor. Tailors use needles and threads to sew together different fabrics and materials to make a whole piece. That’s what a designer does. I see design as my needle that sews interesting aspects together and ultimately turn them into an innovative solution. In other words, there is a thread that runs through each of my work and reflects my concepts and design strategies. Pulling ideas together is a crucial stage for design, which involves observation, research, analysis, and synthesis. It is a big part of design that attracts me the most. It also helps me see the world through different angles. This book showcases how I integrated design thinking and visual language into design works.

Gotham—Typeface Promotion Booklet
Design+ Perfection
[ CONCEP TS ] The typeface that I chose was Gotham, which is a well-known geometric type with multiple weights and fonts. I found it is highly legible and readable in a small size. The typeface designers paid a lot of attention to the details. Therefore, I developed a thread to showcase the perfection and small details of the Gotham typeface, and most importantly, encourage my readers to use Gotham.

Stand by You—Music Poster with Typography
Design+ Strength
[ CONCEP TS ] The song that I chose was Stand By You by Rachel Platten. It is the song that inspires me the most and gives me strength when I face obstacles. It also reminds me that I’m not alone because there are many supportive people around me. To visualize my feelings about this song, I chose various typefaces. Some are elegant while others are bold and powerful. The imagery I collected and combined reflects the soul of the music.
[ OBJECTIVE ]
Create a poster which expresses a piece
of music through typography, imagery and
layout composition. Gather ideas, emotion,
and visuals that would be associated with

Therefore, I created a platform called BreatheIn, which aims to encourage young adults participate in meditation practice.
