Semi Private Moves in the Field Lessons
Moves in the Field (MIF) is a name given to elements of figure skating that emphasize basic skating skill and edge control. U.S. Figure Skating requires each skater to pass a “Moves in the Field” test, as well as a free skating or free dance test, in order to qualify for the various levels of competition. Students are partnered up with another student who is working on the same level as your skater and a qualified coach. Semi private lessons are 30 minutes in length and are held to a 2:1 ratio. Days and times for semi private lessons are based on your availability. For skaters in Freeskate 1 and up. To schedule a semi private Moves in the Field lesson, please contact Angie Pace-Tousignant at atousignant@kvpd.com.

Off Ice Boot Camp
Oorah! Did you know off ice classes provide skaters the opportunity to improve upon additional aspects of skating: strength/core training and body awareness? The benefits of participating in an off-ice program are far reaching. Figure skating is a sport that puts significant strength and flexibility demands on the body. The core strength and plyometric strength requirements of the sport are significant. By completing an off-ice training program, skaters will progress their on-ice skills at a faster pace and be able to handle the strength demands of jumping, spinning, and longer programs. Gym shoes, water bottle and towel are required for each class. Fee: $40.00 Instructors: Ice Valley Staff Ages: 6 – 17
