wo years ago, we proclaimed, “WE BELIEVE!” Our motto begged the question, “In what?” That question birthed last year’s school theme: THREE THINGS! We believe...that Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14)

All along, I planned to extend our focus to another set of THREE THINGS after Easter. I felt the Lord was urging me though to deliver the words earlier and to remind Warriorville that “these THREE THINGS remain - faith, hope, and love.” (I Corinthians 13) Just in time. Within weeks, COVID-19 stormed across our country and what did we need? Faith, hope and love. The Lord knew we would need faith, hope and love in order to serve well in the midst of a pandemic and social upheaval. I shared THREE MORE THINGS with our extraordinary Class of 2020 when they crossed the threshold into college on July 25th. I reminded our grads of the question we are asked in Scripture: “What does God require of us?” THREE THINGS - “to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly before our God.” (Micah 6:8) All in all, 2019-2020 was a year to remember, a year of THREE THINGS. e are blessed in the Business Office to catch a glimpse of God’s glory and blessings He has bestowed upon Little Rock Christian Academy. As we look south we see the beautiful ridge He has created to protect Warrior Field, the Indoor Athletic Facility, and the baseball and softball fields where our students are able to enjoy athletics and fitness each and every day.

structures are fully paid for, we are able to operate efficiently with over 80% of tuition dollars going directly to faculty and staff in the education of our students.

We then look eastward to see the Elementary building with so much love and compassion sitting between our two gyms housing our indoor athletics for lower and middle school. Looking north the Middle School and Junior High come into view with so much joy and energy encompassing those buildings. As we circle around, we see Warrior Hall and Warrior Arena where skills are being honed and excellence is being built.

Serving in His glory, Jim Fink Chief Financial Officer

We then catch a glimpse of the garden and our faculty daycare in the background of the High School where our students are being prepared to take on the next challenges of their lives. Of all the things we see, it is our 1,367 students that bring us the most joy. Over $64 million has been invested into the campus along with the labor, resources and skills of our faculty, staff, families and volunteers since our inception over 40 years ago. We are thankful this past year for the generous gifts given to complete Warrior Arena and to make funds available to assist families hit directly by the economic downturn associated with the pandemic. The school uses your tuition dollars to pay for the direct expenses of school operations and maintain the existing campus infrastructure. Because our buildings and campus

reetings fellow Warrior Alumni!

I’ll never forget in the fall of 2018, pulling onto campus for the first time in years to interview for my current position. I remember asking myself, “Whoa...where am I?” Before that day I would occasionally pass by the school while driving on Highway 10, noticing a new building here and there. It wasn’t until I stepped foot onto campus that I realized the scope of changes and enormous growth since I’d been gone. Where was the double-wide trailer? (Apparently it was hauled off just a few months before I became an employee and - understandably - not many tears were shed.) The high school has an upstairs? There’s a building on campus now for fine arts productions and it doesn’t double as a gym or cafeteria? And if you were here during the Warrior Dome days, you won’t even believe the new Warrior Arena. But the incredible growth doesn’t include just buildings. Did you know that during our 2020 commencement ceremony we celebrated our 2,000th graduate? Starting with just four graduates in 1997 through the class of 2020, LRCA has graduated 2,101 students! With all of the physical changes to campus, one thing that hasn’t changed, however, is the heart and mission of the school: Serving families, churches and the community by providing an education characterized by excellence in the pursuit of truth from a Christ-centered worldview. • Faculty and administration who love and care deeply for their students • Students who want to make a positive difference in the world The evidence of how God has blessed Little Rock Christian Academy 8

through the years is overwhelming. I am reminded of the first verse of the beloved hymn: Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be. We have missed having you on campus this year, but we are looking forward to 2021 in hopes that we can resume our in-person alumni events. In the meantime, if you are ever in town and would like to see this beautiful campus for yourself, I’d love to (safely) show you around. Bekah Caraway Johnson (‘04) Advancement & Alumni Relations

erseverance! That was our theme for 2019-2020. It was a challenging year for the Warrior Club with COVID-19, as it was for everyone. But as James tells us in 1:2, “Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything.” Despite the pandemic, there were bright spots of the year, highlighted by the opening of our new, state-of-the-art Warrior Arena. The Arena seats 1,650 fans, houses the basketball gym, seven locker rooms, a weight room, coaches’ offices, and concession stand. In addition, the Champions Room houses the athletic archives of our school, with interactive screens for fans to pull up players and games from the past, as well as display walls for the many Conference and State Championships our Warrior athletes have earned. The Arena also has meeting rooms, a media center, and additional classrooms. What a blessing it is to be able to compete and learn in such a wonderful facility! With the moving of the basketball program to the Warrior Arena, the existing gym was repurposed for volleyball. All of the coaches’ offices were remodeled, as well as the locker rooms, to prepare for the upcoming season. Warrior Field received major upgrades, including new turf, stateof-the-art LED lighting, and a new sound system along with a larger video board. Our new turf is the first of its kind in all of Arkansas. The turf is 20 degrees cooler for those hot summer practices. Also, the cushion underneath has been proven to reduce concussions by 35-40%, offering added protection for our student athletes as they compete. In

addition, Coach Watson spent countless hours marking bleachers, so fans could safely social distance during games. Our single largest fundraiser, the Warrior Golf Tournament, ran into some scheduling hiccups due to COVID. The date had to be postponed twice. However, this year’s tournament netted the Warrior Club over $80,000 in revenue, thanks to very generous Champ Sponsors, along with team and hole sponsors. This was by far the largest tournament held to date, but we hope to surpass it next year! Some of the proceeds from the Tournament paid for new uniforms for girls and boys cross country, girls and boys soccer, and Junior High basketball. Additionally, the Warrior Club gave four $1,000 college scholarships to deserving student athletes. Finally, no report on the Warrior Club is complete without mentioning the Warrior Store, run by Tammy Harris and her team of volunteers. The store is an invaluable asset to life here at LRCA. In addition to raising money from sales for Warrior Athletics, the store provides an awesome selection of all things Warrior wear. Stop by and get your Warrior wear on! Although this year has been, and continues to be a bit of a struggle for all, we take encouragement from Revelation 2:3, “You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.” Perseverance! It’s God’s way. It’s the Warrior Way. In Him, Fred Lord Warrior Club President

PARENT TEACHER FELLOWSHIP

RCA’s Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) is a well-oiled machine that is composed of all parents. PTF volunteers desire to serve the staff, students, and families in order to glorify Christ and support the school’s mission. Their passionate commitment and dedicated service have only been amplified by the challenges presented during the 2019-20 school year. Current PTF Board President, Stacey Knoernschild shares, “It’s like God has His hand over us to provide during this time even when things have been uncertain. We’re still moving along even during a pandemic.” Warrior Blitz 2019 broke records for giving and participation with $166,953 going toward enrichments NOT covered by tuition. From there, PTF continued organizing events and efforts to further the LRCA mission. By mid-March, original plans had to be modified, but the PTF Board and volunteers creatively orchestrated ways to charge ahead. Working to preserve morale during difficult circumstances, they distributed gift cards to faculty and staff and provided yard signs for all of the seniors. They secured many sponsorships, continued the ambassador program to welcome new students, organized back-to-school meals, staff appreciation events, and much more! PTF revamped Warrior Blitz 2020 with a new theme...Families Helping Families! All funds raised supported Tuition Assistance so students can continue their Christian education without being financially hindered. Service and acts of kindness were the focal points of the week. “Although we are optimistic that the spring semester will look different, we are doing our best to serve the school and our staff and help in any way possible,” Stacey Knoernschild affirms. 12

ARRIORVILLE….Home to 1,367 students, 916 families, 250 faculty and staff members, and generous givers like YOU!

Time and time again, I am reminded of that feeling of home as I walk around our beautiful campus. The aroma of fresh baked cookies comes from the cafeteria as the Food Service staff lovingly prepare lunches for our students. I stroll through buildings full of creative and imaginative wall decor and see a masterpiece that will soon be proudly hanging in someone’s home. Smiling and joyful students cross my path each day. Students gather to share the latest events of the previous night’s games. A student tells their teacher a silly story. They gather around the cross at Warrior Hall to share the love of Jesus. You see the spark that ignites from deep within knowing they are home. As we yearn for our heavenly home, we are thankful for the gift of Little Rock Christian Academy. LRCA is a place to dig our roots deeper into the Word. A setting to share our joys and sorrows. A home where you are loved. Thank you for your philanthropic heart to make Little Rock Christian Academy home. Your generous gifts allow us to share the love of Jesus in everything we do. You provide the catalyst to create wonderful experiences. Your thoughtfulness breeds joy in students and their families. Thanks for making LRCA home! ow… The year 2020 is one that none of us will soon forget! Viruses, closures, masks, riots, Zoom meetings, political craziness, racial tension, fear, economic strain, challenges, worry, virtual classrooms, social distancing, and a genuine fear about the future seem to describe what has been on our hearts and minds over the last few months. However, what has been amazing to see in the midst of all this is the incredible faithfulness, generosity, strength, perseverance, hope and love of God’s people. The Lord is on His throne and He is preparing us for His work ahead. What do we do next? How do we prepare? When do we take action? Where do we see the Lord leading us and teaching us during this season? These are questions that Dr. Arnold, your Board of Trust, and your LRCA Leadership Team have been asking as we have prepared for this school year and as we face the challenges of each new day. There is no easy decision when it comes to planning and implementing safety plans, educational strategies, athletic events, containment protocols, virtual learning implementation and campus health concerns during this season. Only the God of Heaven can light the path and clear the obstacles as we step forward. Your Board of Trust is so grateful for the Lord’s guidance and peace as our Christian Community has come together to learn, listen, and stand together in faith and hope to face the challenges and uncertainty about the future. We stand in unity, because the Lord goes before us, lifts us up, and pushes us toward a deeper faith. Our children need to learn. Our families need community. Our hearts need the Lord’s Grace. Thank you Gary, Ann, Jim, Johnny, Justin, Tyler, LeAnn and Lynn for your preparation and planning for the reopening of school. Your hearts, wisdom, and stamina are incredible. have opened the campus doors and kept our focus on the Lord. Thank you teachers! You are the front line for us all right now. Your faithful service, mission-driven creativity, hard work, and your genuine love and care for our children is not just noticed and appreciated… but truly inspiring and respected. The Lord has called each of you to Little Rock Christian Academy for such a time as this. We are all so grateful for you. Thank you parents for your faithfulness, your support, your hope, your partnership, and your trust as we walk through each new day head-on, face forward, with our eyes on the Lord. This is a moment for all of us to refocus on the important things in life… faith, hope and love. Jesus is our light and we are securely in the Lord’s good hands. It is a great time to be a Warrior and to live life together with such great families and friends. Thank you, John McMorran Chairman, Board of Trust
