SUMMER IN WARRIORVILLE DAY CAMP

Little Rock Christian Academy offers full-day camps to rising PK4 - 6th grade students and is only available to accepted LRCA families. This service is meant to provide families with high quality child care throughout the summer months. Focused around weekly themes, campers will participate in arts & crafts, group and individual play, story time, and field trips! Full-time registration is offered in two 3-week sessions. Each week, day camp will be held Monday - Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Enrolled students will have secured enrollment for the entire session and may attend as needed. • Session 1 – June 6-24 • Session 2 – July 11-29 • $700 per session (includes daily hot lunch) While day campers will be allowed to join weekly enrichment classes in the mornings, these classes are NOT included in the day camp fee. Families must pay and register separately for these classes in order to participate. Registration – LRCA families may access their FACTS portal to register for day camp. A one-time, non-refundable, $50 registration fee will be due at the time of your initial registration to secure your spot. Registration will open March 1 and will close May 27. BASEBALL CAMP Coach: Brandon Eller and the LRCA Baseball Team Play ball! Learn and practice the skills of catching, throwing and hitting and running the bases. Coaches will focus on the basic rules of the game through fun and exciting scrimmage games. The camp is hosted by Warrior baseball coaches and players. Camp fee: $125 Maximum of 80 students Rising 1st-5th grade June 20-22, 9:00-11:30 a.m. BASKETBALL CAMP FOR BOYS Coach: Clarence Finley Learn and practice basic dribbling, passing, and shooting skills. This is a great class for players of all levels to build a foundation of skills and techniques while having FUN. Camp fee: $125 July 11-13 9:00-11:30 a.m. Rising 1st-5th grade Warrior Arena BASKETBALL CAMP FOR GIRLS Coach: Ronald Rogers Learn and practice basic dribbling, passing, and shooting skills. CHEER CAMP Coach: Sunshine Lee and the Varsity Cheerleaders Join us for a fun time focusing on drills, skills, cheers, and stunts! Instructed by LRCA Varsity Cheer Coach Sunshine Lee and the Varsity Cheerleaders Camp fee: $125 Minimum of 10 students, No Maximum Rising K-4th grade June 13-15, 9:00-11:30 a.m. Warrior Indoor Cheer Loft FOOTBALL CAMP Coach: Will Duncan The Warrior Football Camp is a non-contact, skills teaching camp that is designed to give each athlete a solid foundation in the football fundamentals needed to excel at any position. Led by members of the Warrior Football staff, each player will receive hands-on instruction as they participate in drills and practice simulating those of the Warrior Football Team. Camp fee: $125 June 13,14, & 16: 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. Rising 1st-4th Boys and Girls GO GIRLS, GO SPORTS! Coach: Georgia Witt Throwing, running, dribbling, kicking, balance, and more! Build confidence, create skill sets, and find joy in being active! God has given girls such unique gifts in their laughter, creativity, and sisterhood. Join me in this girls only summer camp that will provide a space for girls to learn core exercise and athletic skills, along with putting teamwork into practice, that they can use in the future, whether it be in sports or living a healthy and active life. Camp fee: $135 10-20 students 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Rising 5th-6th grade: June 6-9 Rising 3rd-4th grade: June 13-16 SKILLS AND DRILLS CAMP Instructor: Coach Eli Nelson My camp will help develop skill sets, work on footwork, lateral movements, takeoffs, stands, catching the ball, etc. Class fee: $125 Rising 1st-4th grade July 11-14 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. SPORTSMANSHIP CLASS Coach: Raley Nance This class will help your student be prepared to show sportsmanship for all events that they will be participating in. This class will bring in Biblical teaching on how we can all show “one another” through sports and even life. Participants will spend the week together playing games that may not go their way and they must rely on Christ to shine through them so they build each other up. This class will also teach them how they can use Christ in their daily lives and how Christ can bring kindness through them. VOLLEYBALL CAMP Coach: Lacey Rowan Learn the skills of volleyball and have fun! Players will be taught the basics rules and skills of volleyball. Players will get to participate in various games and competitions to learn skills of the game. The camp is hosted by Warrior volleyball coaches and players. Camp fee: $125 Rising 1st-5th grade June 20-22, 9:00-11:30 a.m. WARRIOR OLYMPICS Coach: Meagan Kinley This summer, the Olympic Games are coming to LRCA in this exciting week of competition, fun, and learning. Competing on different teams, students will immerse themselves into the experience of becoming an athlete, encouraging their friends, and racing to win gold. We will also take time to learn about the history of the Olympic games, the countries involved and the true spirit of competition with an emphasis on Christ-like sportsmanship. The Warrior Olympics will primarily focus on sports related to Track and Field -- with a fun summer twist. Class fee: $130 Maximum of 30 students Rising 1st-5th grade 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. July 25-28 WARRIOR SOCCER CAMP Coaches: Barry McCaskill, Beth Highfill, Gina Rafferty, Morgan Allen Warrior Soccer Camp is designed for both new and experienced soccer players. New players get an introduction to foundational skills and fun skill-building games while more advanced players take part in challenging drills and fast-paced games. Warrior Soccer coaches and current high school team members lead each session and create a fun and encouraging environment for all campers. Camp fee: $125 No minimum, Maximum of 80 students Rising 1st-6th grade boys and girls June 7-9, 9:00-11:30 a.m. Location: Warrior Field Supplies to bring: water bottle, soccer ball, shin guards, soccer cleats or tennis shoes WARRIOR TENNIS CAMP Instructor: Blane Covert and tennis staff Led by Dr. Blane Covert, one of the LRCA’s varsity tennis coaches and longtime tennis pro at Chenal Country Club, the Warrior Tennis Camp introduces new players to the basic strokes of the game and teaches advanced technique and strategy to players with tennis experience. While participating within the framework of good sportsmanship, campers will rotate through technique stations (including serve, forehand, backhand, slice backhand, forehand volley, backhand volley, overhead, and drop shot), improve their strokes through fast-paced drills, participate in games, and compete in supervised matches. Campers must bring their own tennis racquets. Hats, sunscreen, and water bottles are recommended. WRESTLING CAMP Coach: Will Duncan The Warrior Wrestling Camp is for 5th - 7th graders that are interested in learning the fundamentals of wrestling. Our Varsity Wrestling coaching staff, with a combined 50 years of experience, will be there to teach the practical and basic skills needed to safely participate in the sport. 7TH GRADE MATH/PRE ALGEBRA Instructor: Kay Ashworth Review of concepts and skills taught in 7th grade Math/Pre-Algebra with an emphasis on solving equations and inequalities. Classes will meet July 18-21 & July 25-28 in the mornings. Class fee: $130 Minimum of 4 students, Maximum of 8 students per class This class is designed for students that have completed 7th grade 2021-2022 July 18-21 July 25-28 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. AROUND THE WORLD Instructor: Brittany Pulido This week rising 1st-3rd grade students will travel around the world exploring language, culture, crafts, recipes, and music from four different countries. Each day we will learn basic words, make crafts, sing, dance and make a snack that represents a different country. Get ready to get your passport and come along on a fun adventure. July 17-20, 2022 (1st-3rd grade) July 24-27, 2022 (4th-6th grade) Class fee: $140 Maximum of 15 students 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. BAKE OFF, CAKE OFF Instructor: Chelsea Saegert Students will be refreshed in general baking knowledge and then expand upon that by creating awesome cake creations! Students will be provided with an array of ingredients and tools to create their own delicious masterpieces. With guidance and encouragement, they will each design a cake and then bake, stack, ice, fondant, and decorate it. It’s sure to be a messy and fun-filled week! Camp fee: $150 Minimum 5 - Maximum 15 Rising 4th-6th graders July 18-21 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. BOXCAR BONANZA Instructor: Allison Ridings Calling all boys and girls!! What can you do with a cardboard box? What about turning it into your favorite mode of transportation?! We can create a police car, a race car, a pink sparkle car, and so much more. This class will be full of creativity, exploration, and just plain fun. I cannot wait to watch your little ones create their vehicles. COOKING CAMP Instructor: Carli Sasser Calling all kiddos who love to cook, bake, and explore in the kitchen! We will learn about kitchen utensils, cooking and baking basics, and make several easy and healthy recipes that kids and parents alike will enjoy. At the end of the week, students will take home a cookbook filled with the yummy recipes that we learned to make together, an apron, and their very own small set of kitchen utensils. Class fee: $145 Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 20 students July 11-14th (Rising 5th-6th) Jule 18-21th (Rising 1st-3rd) 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. CREATION CAMP Instructor: Kelsey Nwokoro Come ready to create! In this exciting week of art exploration, students will enjoy different styles of creating every day. From drawing and painting to sculpting and design, our imaginations and creativity will soar. Students will leave Creation Camp with some tools to continue creating, and several amazing projects, including an individually-designed hat to enjoy all summer long! We will learn about tessellations, Pi art, watercolor compass circles, parabolic curves, Fibonacci Rule, and pendulum designs. Come be “POSH” with Fancy Nancy and learn all the tricks of being fancy. We will spend each day doing fancy and exciting activities from some of the Fancy Nancy books: Fancy Nancy, Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy, and Bonjour Butterfly to name a few. Each day we will have a theme based on a book. We will eat fun snacks, play games, and make crafts all related to the book that day. JEWELRY MAKING CLASS Instructor: Joely Fletcher Girls come and make some fun Jewelry with some sparkles and bling and have fun with just us girls. We will make necklaces and bracelets and lots of other fun things. Class fee: $135 Rising K-2nd grade July 25-28 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. KINDERGARTEN CAMP Instructor: Kathy McDonald This Kindergarten readiness class will help students prepare for the exciting transition to Kindergarten. Join us for a fun-filled week full of activities that will give your child a head start. They will practice important skills in phonics, writing, and math. They will also become familiar with a K5 classroom and get much needed one on one time to feel confident in starting Kindergarten. The goal of this class is to have every camper ready for their first day in August! LITERACY AND MATH CAMP Instructor: Allison Wood Mrs. Wood’s Workshop is a three-week summer program for students entering 1st-4th grades. Students will receive instruction in literacy and math through fun activities. Your student will practice skills and learning strategies to help them excel at the next grade level. For language, we will focus on phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing techniques. During the math instruction, students will drill facts, develop number sense, and practice problem solving skills. As you make your creations, you will be inspired to wonder about the greatness of God and learn just how much He loves you. Class fee: $145 Minimum of 4 students Rising 2nd-5th grade 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. June 6-9 MULTIPLICATION MASTERS Instructor: Lauren Callaham Mrs. Callaham’s Multiplication Masters will spend time memorizing multiplication facts once and for all. We will use Times Tables, a curriculum that uses a story-based method to help all learners. This class will be especially helpful for students who have dyslexia or dyscalculia. MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP Instructor: Suzanna Dudley What is a musical theater actor? How do actors communicate to an audience? How does the voice of an actor affect their character? What is choreography and blocking? How does teamwork affect a show? Through learning and performing the musical number “It’s the Hard-Knock Life” from the musical, Annie, students will learn the answers to these questions and become musical theater actors themselves. Students will learn the lyrics to the song, the corresponding choreography, and how to embody and portray a character. They will also develop teamwork skills and learn how to work together to put on a successful performance. Our goal will be to put on a short performance on the last day of class for parents to come and enjoy. Camp fee: $125 Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 25 students Rising 2nd-4th grade 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. July 11th - 14th PRINCESS CAMP Instructor: Megan Kelley Grab your tiara and twirl your way into princess camp! We will sparkle and shine through the week as we play games, read magical stories, enjoy a tea-party, and learn about being God’s little princesses! Camp fee: $135 Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 20 students Rising PK4-1st 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. July 18-21 READING AND MATH SUMMER BUCKET LIST Instructor: Lauren Callaham Mrs. Callaham’s Summer Bucket List class is for kids entering 5th and 6th grades. Students will cross off items on our bucket list as we boost skills in math and literacy. We will split our time between elements of a story and math skills reinforcement, all while having fun. SUMMER FUN FIESTA Instructor: Claire Bassett A fun-filled blend of Latin culture, Spanish language, and summertime! You can expect games, bright colors, and tasty treats all while learning a bit of Spanish along the way. Class fee: $135 Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 18 students Rising 3rd-4th grade June 6-9, 9:00-11:30 a.m. THE GREAT OUTDOORS Instructor: Chelsea Saegert Let’s get back to nature as we explore the great outdoors. Students will learn how to “set up camp” and spend the week abandoning screens for outdoor fun such as “fishing,” hiking, and singing around the campfire. Join us as we discover the beauty and benefits of God’s creation. Camp fee: $135 Minimum 5 - Maximum 15 Rising PK4-Kindergarten July 25-28 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. UNDER THE SEA CAMP Instructor: Megan Kelley Just keep swimming…just keep swimming! If you’re ready to have a WHALE of a time, join our under the sea class! Dive into the surf with us as we explore sandy beaches, the coral reef, beautiful fish, and more. Ocean adventures await! Class fee: $135 Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 20 students Rising PK4-1st grade 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. July 11-14 UP IN THE AIR! Instructor: Michelle Irby Join me in the STEM lab as we explore the science of flight! I will be teaching children the principles of air pressure and the forces of flight as we explore the mysteries of how things rise, soar, and zoom through the atmosphere. Students will make their own hot air balloon and watch it rise in the STEM lab with our indoor heated balloon tester. Students will also enjoy some outdoor fun as we experiment with various kinds of planes and rockets. We will have a blast learning that you can make anything fly! WARRIOR CHEFS Instructor: Kelsey Nwokoro Do you enjoy cooking and baking? Do you enjoy eating the delicious foods you’ve cooked and baked? Then Warrior Chefs is the class for you! Every day, students will participate in cooking a breakfast item, an appetizer, and a dessert. At the end of the week, students will take home their very own cookbook and apron to help them enjoy time in the kitchen all summer long. Class fee: $135 Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 20 students Rising 2nd-5th grade 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. June 13-16 WARRIOR RIDING CLUB Instructor: Jenny Farias We’re gonna “stirrup” some fun as we learn about one of God’s most beautiful creations: horses. We will learn the basics of riding and how to care for our four-legged friends. So swap your sandals for boots and get ready to ride because this will be the “mane” event of your summer! We will meet at the Arkansas Equine Adventures barn on Barrett Road. Class fee: $200 Maximum of 20 students 8:15-11:15 a.m. July 11-14 (Rising 3rd-5th grade) July 18-21 (Rising 5th-7th grade) July 25-28 (Rising 3rd-5th grade) WRITING LAB Instructor: Meagan Kinley Does your student need assistance with writing? If so, look no further than LRCA Summer Writing Lab. For four days, we will focus on the basics of writing and unpacking the mystery of what teachers and standardized tests look for in writing samples. Students will be guided through the art of creating a critical thesis statement as well as how to outline for success. We will also discuss strategies for revising and workshopping their work.
