Name and position? Jeff Weaver / Head Football Coach
First impressions of LRCA? LRCA is a place where education and spiritual growth are very important. A place where people genuinely care about students and want them to succeed.
What are your short and long-term goals as head football coach @ LRCA? We are going to build a program that competes at the highest level and does so with class. A program that everyone will be proud to have them representing them. A program that other people across the state say “Those guys can play some football and they do it the right way.”
Where did you attend high school and what sports did you play while there? I graduated from Greenwood High School in 1988. I played football and baseball.
What influenced and inspired you to coach football?
Speaking of pets, what are your pet peeves?
Coaches I played for had a huge influence on me. Also, my father is someone I saw who really enjoyed his work as a businessman, I wanted to find something I enjoy doing like he did. Since I began coaching it is like I never go to work because I enjoy what I do.
Disrespectful people. Turning the ball over, missing tackles, and stupid penalties. I also don’t like to be late.
If you could invite 5 people to attend a Super Bowl with, who would it be? My wife Stacy, son Josiah, daughter Sophia would be my first 3. The other two would be leaders or underprivileged players off of our team.
If you could have one super power, which one would you want to have and why? I’d have to go with the ability to fly like Superman. I could go anywhere, anytime.
Do you have any pets and what are their names? We
What do you do in your spare time- hobbies? I spend the vast majority of my time away from work with my family. I like to hunt, fish, and play golf but don’t do any of those enough to call them hobbies.
What is your favorite movie and why? The Godfather I and II. The drama of the family is addicting to me.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know? When Stacy agreed to marry me I was a 25 year old businessman working for his family. I began coaching when I was 28 and if it weren’t for a loving, supportive wife, I would never been able to enjoy such a wonderful career.
have a beagle dog named Hammer. He is adjusting well from being a hunting dog to a spoiled inside dog.
