ou can now register to attend UCAS and their virtual exhibitions, taking place this autumn. You will have the chance to explore courses they’re interested in and speak to universities and colleges from around the UK. By taking part, you can: Speak to subject experts and admissions staff – allowing you to start comparing courses and universities and colleges, to find the right ones for them. Chat to current students – they can offer real insight into what life at university is really like. Get advice on applying through UCAS– including how to make your personal statement stand out. Discover apprenticeships – find out what they are, how to apply, and the careers they can lead to.

DMUTalks is a 5 week series that will focus on a student’s journey through UCAS to applying to university. Every week we will focus on a different component of the journey and at the end the student’s should be in a strong position to start and hopefully complete their UCAS application. Wednesday 9th September at 19:00: Why Choose Higher Education? Thursday 17th September at 19:00: What is UCAS? Tuesday 22nd September at 19:00: Researching the right course. Wednesday 30th September at 19:00: Personal Statements. Thursday 8th October at 19:00: Student Life.

pplications for an Apprentice Finance Assistant at The Cambridge Partnership Ltd. are now open, with a possible November 2020 start. The Cambridge Partnership Ltd runs as a provider of accounting, administration and company secretarial services to Biotech and Pharma clients. The Apprentice Finance Assistant will assist the team in handling the accounting for a range of over 20 companies in the Biotech sector, as part of a 4 person team, with the assistance of 3 very experienced team members. It is a new role being created due to the growth in the business with new clients being taken on.The successful candidate will be a key member of a small team that delivers excellent back office and finance support to a range of biotech businesses.

Applications are now open for AMPlify, for artists aged 18 to 25 years to test new approaches and ideas through workshops and talks, whilst also having time to develop their own work with Wysing Arts Centre. This year AMPlify will take place entirely online, and is free to attend. Participate in this online, alternative learning programme to: Have access to some of the most exciting contemporary artists working today who have experience in teaching. Participate in mentoring opportunities. Develop your ideas and create new work to showcase through the WysingBroadcastsArt online platform. Develop knowledge of contemporary art practice with a focus on digital media and games. Meet and experiment with peers in a supportive environment. Have the opportunity to work towards a Gold Arts Award.

VIRTUAL USA COLLEGEÂ DAY USA College Day with Fullbright Commission is the largest US university fair in Europe. The 43rd year of College Day will see a wide variety of US universities exhibit at this virtual event for prospective undergraduates, parents and teachers. This free, online event provides students, parents and advisers with the unique opportunity to meet representatives from more than 150 American universities. Learn about different institutions, discover financial aid and scholarships, and find out more about the admissions process. The fair will take place online and is expected to bring in visitors from across the UK. Attendance to the fair is free, but you must register in advance.

WHERE EDUCATION MEETS INDUSTRY As we prepare for the start of a new academic year, Pearson Business School is excited to be hosting the brand-new Enterprise Festival Virtual Series! The aim of these free online series is to grow the collaboration between education and industry through exploring, debating and sharing knowledge about relevant business-related topics.

he University of Lincoln will be holding a bespoke series of Virtual Parent Evening events coming up this term. Both events will cover the most appropriate areas in HE. The Parents’ Evenings is not Lincoln specific and therefore all parents who would like to gain an insight into HE are welcome.
The 8th October will be the Year 13 and BTEC Year 2 Parents’ Evening, covering topics such as the UCAS timeline, Personal Statements, Student Finance, Wellbeing and Student Life. The evening will then finish with a Q&A session. The 4th November will be the Year 12 and BTEC Year 1 Parents’ Evening, covering topics such as Making the most of Post 16, Why go to University?, Student Life and a session with Lincoln alumni students. The evening will then finish with a Q&A session.
