Top tips to choose Univeristies Choosing the right universities to apply for can be tricky. Where do you start and what do you look for? Course Content - Firstly find the right course for you. A number of universities will offer the same subject but they do not all teach the same core content. Make sure you read the course description and modules studied and check the employability rates for this subject is it what you expected? Destination - Where do you want to live? There is the obvious home or away but each university will offer different accommodation at different costs. Do you want to live in a big city or do you want a campus university that may be slightly more away from the hustle and bustle of the main city? Is the accommodation close to campus or do you need to travel?
Sports and Societies Are the extra resources important to you, do you want your university to have lots of societies you can join? Do they have fancy sports facilities that you will want to use? University Ranking For some, this is very important. You can check ranking by University as a whole and by subject. What is most important to you? It might be class sizes or it might be how many international links the university has. You will no doubt try and visit University open days before you decide but speak to current students, get their opinions. check out https://www.ucas.com/chat-tostudents

Student success
Long Road student Louis Bryne won a Japanese competition called 'Nendroid Pouch Neo Design Contest' hosted by the Good Smile Company. They are a Japanese figurine and merchandise company and the task was to design a new design to add to their 'Nendroid Pouch Neo' product line up, which is basically like a case for their figurines to be able to display/carry them. Entrants were given a template to draw out their designs and the 2 chosen winners would have their design become an actual product. Louis, as a winner was given the opportunity to talk with the company/manufacturer about how the final product would look and give feedback on the prototypes. . The prototype was then shown off at an exhibition called 'WONDERFUL HOBBY LIFE FOR YOU!!' which is hosted by Good Smile and other figurine manufacturers in Akihabara, Japan. Congratulations Louis!
