FEATURED NEWSLETTER BY MADISON NGUYEN

PREPARING FOR NEXT YEAR

It is officially the end of February, and it’s strange to see signs that this school year will soon be coming to an end. Yes, we still have three months left, but those months are gonna go by super fast! We have already been preparing for the new year, and it seems like everything is going well. We recently had elections to elect our 2022-2023 officer board, and I’m glad to say that they went smoothly. This year I am webmaster, but I got elected to be next year’s vice president! I’ve been able to meet all the new officers, and they are all extremely nice, and I cannot wait to work with them next year. Soon, we will have officer workshops, so that we can train the new officers and prepare them to take over around April. Additionally, we recently had an officer meeting to discuss LEDCON, and we are all so excited to go. Speaking of LEDCON, we have recently started fundraising to go. We are having a chocolate and gummy bear fundraiser that will end on March 9. Part of the money will go towards our Veterans’ Day Breakfast for next year. Additionally, since it is nearing the end of the year, we will be thinking about preparing “Kiss a Senior Goodbye”. We will be giving the graduating seniors chocolate kisses along with a note.

I am glad that we are doing something to send off our seniors, but it is also a bit sad since most of the officer board is made up of seniors. Along with that, the new board has already been helping plan for next year. A problem that we have had for the past few years has been T-shirt planning, so we have not had one in awhile. With the new board, we will be planning T-shirts over the summer, so that they will be prepared when the school year starts. We are also thinking about bringing something back called “Key Clubber of the Month”. This is something that our club has done in the past but we stopped. What this would be is we would see who is volunteering or active the most each month, and that person would be the Key Clubber of the Month. They would be highlighted on our Instagram and mayne get a prize. I think that it would be a great wau to boost our activity levels. In all, as the school year is slowly coming to an end, everyone is planning and working together to make sure that next year will be just as great as this year!
