LS3P Hosts UNC Charlotte Design Studio

In the fall of 2021, LS3P sponsored an Advanced Building Design studio for students at UNC-Charlotte on the topic of Urban Affordable Housing.

For the first part of the studio, students investigated the tectonics of low-rise, high-density housing systems. The students then visited potential project sites in Charleston, SC, working with designers at LS3P to dig deeper into the elements impacting high quality affordable housing in the area. The students designed sitespecific solutions which included thoughtfully considered urban public spaces and multiunit clusters.
