THE SCHOOL Established in 1858, La Salle College High School is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young men of varied backgrounds, grades 9-12. La Salle is committed to Christian values, academic excellence, spiritual fulfillment, cultural enrichment, and physical development. In the tradition of the De La Salle Christian Brothers Schools, La Salle empowers students to accept responsibility, achieve their fullest potential and work to build a just society. La Salle is a member of a worldwide Lasallian network of schools and colleges. La Salle is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. La Salle holds memberships in PAIS, ADVIS, CEEB, NACAC, PACAC, and the International Coalition of Boys Schools. THE STUDENTS La Salle students are accepted on the basis of a competitive entrance exam and an admissions portfolio. Students come from more than 180 parochial, private, and public elementary schools from the City of Philadelphia, small towns, suburban communities, and rural areas in the four surrounding counties, and two international countries. Typically, 100% of graduates attend college. The Class of 2014 earned over $34 million in documented scholarships and grants.
