Academic EXCELLENCE

• 11% of the Class of 2012 was recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation – 13 National Merit Semifinalists – 14 National Merit Commended Students • Class of 2012 – 100% of the Class of 2012 is continuing formal education at 91 colleges and universities in 23 different states and two international universities the Class of 2012 was accepted into 204 colleges and universities in 34 states and two international universities – Collectively earned over $29.3 million in documented Scholarships and Grants – 80% of the Class of 2012 earned Merit-Based and/or Athletic Scholarships • 220 members of the National Honor Society • 117 AP scholars, including fifteen National Scholars • 19 Advanced Placement Courses offered • 300 students took 615 AP exams – 90% scored 3 or better (recommended grade for college) • Over 145 academic courses

• 23 voluntary community service projects • Service conducted seven days a week • Local, national and international summer service opportunities – over 265 students, which represents 40% of the upper classmen, along with 27 faculty members participated in summer service experiences in Philadelphia, Bolivia, St. Lucia, Arizona, Louisiana, Montana, Louisiana, New Mexico, New York, and West Virginia • Innovative Father/Son Branch-Out Day service program for freshmen and sophomores along with their fathers • Thanksgiving Food Drive collected over 10,000 non-perishable cans of food • Over 50 juniors participated in three Urban Challenge overnight service learning projects at the Romero Center in Camden, NJ • Operation Santa Claus and Secret Santa Raised in excess of $12,000 and collected over 2,500 gifts – 125 students and twelve faculty members delivered gifts on Christmas Eve • Through “La Salle Responds” the school community raised over $30,000 to benefit over thirty different charities

• Athletics – 2011-2012 Pennsylvania State Champions in Baseball, Hockey, and Swimming – 2011-2012 Philadelphia Catholic League Champions in Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Wrestling, Soccer, Swimming, and Tennis – 2011-2012 PIAA District 12 (City) Champions in Baseball, Football, Lacrosse, Wrestling, Soccer, Swimming, and Tennis, and Track and Field – 2011-2012 Flyers Cup Hockey Champions – 2011-2012 placed second in the Pennsylvania State Championship in Lacrosse – 200 yard Freestyle Relay Team swam the fastest time in America (1.22.91) and was crowned as National Champions – twelve students were named as High School All-Americans and captured 27 All-American Athletic Certifications in five different sports – Teacher-Coach Model with twelve of the sixteen teams coached by teachers at La Salle and over forty teachers involved in La Salle’s athletic program – 50% of students involved in athletics • Fine Arts – 25% students are involved in music – Eleven performing bands and three choral groups – Competition Band received superior ratings in all five area jazz competitions in 2012 – Outstanding Soloist Award was earned by a La Salle musician at each competition – Two band concerts, two choral concerts, and two theatrical productions are held each year – 26% students participate in the Art Program – Arts Festival held each May highlights student work in painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics – Students exhibited artwork at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Montgomery County Community College and the Archdiocesan Art Show

• Music Facilities – La Salle’s excellent music facilities include an ensemble practice room large enough to house our largest performing groups. A choral room, space for instrumental instruction, multiple practice rooms, and a digital music lab round out a facility that can accommodate the almost three hundred students involved in La Salle’s highly acclaimed music program. • Athletic Facilities – La Salle has been blessed with extensive athletic facilities, which include a main gym, auxiliary gym for wrestling and other athletic activities, a fitness center with a full-time Strength and Conditioning Instructor, an erg room for rowing, indoor and outdoor pools, six-lane track, five tennis courts, nine athletic fields, a walking trail, and a boathouse located on historic Boathouse Row. • Guidance and Counseling Centers – College Counseling, Class Level Counseling, Academic Support, and the David Program
