Commitment TOSERVICE
• service conducted seven days a week through seventeen voluntary community service projects • summer service opportunities in eight states and four countries – Philadelphia, Bolivia, Saint Lucia, Puerto Rico, Arizona, California, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, New York, and West Virginia – over 300 rising juniors and seniors, which represents almost 60% of the upperclassmen, along with 27 faculty members participated in service experiences during the summer of 2016 – Father/Son Branch-Out Day for freshmen along with their fathers – Monthly Father/Son and Mother/Son service opportunities • Thanksgiving Food Drive collected over 13,500 cans of food • Secret Santa raised in excess of $12,000 and purchased approximately 700 gifts for the oncology and hematology patients (and their families) at Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children – over ninety students along with twenty-five parents and fifteen alums delivered gifts on Christmas Eve to over 140 children (68 homes) • through “La Salle Responds,” the school community raised over $40,000 to benefit over thirty different charities and organizations

This allows our faculty and students to utilize their tablet device to enhance collaboration and learning in the classroom.
EACH MEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2020 WAS ISSUED A MICROSOFT SURFACE 3 AND WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN A FOURYEAR ONE-TO-ONE INITIATIVE. STUDENTS ARE PROVIDED WITH ALL OF THE DIGITAL TOOLS THEY WILL NEED FOR A 21ST CENTURY LEARNING ENVIRONMENT. THROUGH OFFICE 365, STUDENTS ARE PROVIDED AN EMAIL ACCOUNT, CLOUD STORAGE, AND A COPY OF MICROSOFT OFFICE. DIGITAL DESIGN STUDENTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A COPY OF THE NECESSARY ADOBE SOFTWARE VIA ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD.
Extraordinary EXTRACURRICULARS
• Athletics – over 70% of students are involved in athletics – 18 Varsity Sports – 43 Separate Teams (Varsity, JV, and Freshman programs) – 2015-16 Pennsylvania State Champions in Hockey, Rugby 7s, and Swimming – 2015-16 Philadelphia Catholic League Champions in ten sports – Bowling, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Lacrosse, Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field, and Volleyball – 2015-16 PIAA District 12 (City) Champions in six sports – Cross Country, Football, Lacrosse, Swimming, Tennis, and Track and Field – 2015-16 Flyers Cup Champions in Hockey – in the last ten years, La Salle has won sixteen Pennsylvania State Championships in six different sports – La Salle College High School is the only school to have won a Philadelphia Catholic League Championship in every boy’s sport. – in the last five years, La Salle has captured 91 championships in seventeen different sports (Philadelphia Catholic League Championships, District 12 Championships, and Pennsylvania State Championships) – 217 students received All-Catholic recognition in 2015-16 – over 40 athletes in the Class of 2016 were recruited to participate in athletics by a college or university
• Fine Arts – over 260 students are actively involved the school’s Music Program – fifteen performing ensembles and three choral groups – two band concerts and two choral concerts are held each year – Competition Band received superior ratings in all five area jazz competitions in 2016 and captured First Place at the Cavalcade of Bands Championship for the Delaware Valley – over 25% of students participate in the Fine Arts Program – Arts Festival held each May highlights student work in painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics – students exhibited artwork at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Montgomery County Community College, and the Archdiocesan Art Show • Activities – 53 clubs and organizations, many with award winning accomplishments – over 70% of the student body is involved in one or more activity or club – Speech and Debate Program – recognized as a Debate School of Excellence seven times in the last ten years – won the Philadelphia Catholic Forensics League Debate School Championship for thirteen consecutive years – the program has had six National Champions, thirty State Champions, and seventy-three City Champions along with numerous other national, state, and local awardees – student publications include the Wisterian (newspaper), Blue and Gold (yearbook), and Gazebo (literary magazine) – Theater Program produces a drama each fall and a musical in the spring – the 2015-156 school year featured four sold-out performances of the Gershwin musical Crazy For You

CLASS OF 2016 • 257 seniors from 108 elementary schools, 75 zip codes, and China (two students) • 100% of the Class of 2016 is continuing formal education at 84 colleges and universities in 21 different states and the District of Columbia • Class of 2016 was accepted into 223 colleges and universities in 33 different states and the District of Columbia • 81% of the Class of 2016 earned a scholarship or grant and collectively earned in excess of $43 million in documented scholarships and grants • 37% of the Class of 2016 was designated as an AP Scholar (20 National AP Scholars) NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY • 168 members of the National Honor Society (juniors and seniors only with a minimum GPA of 3.75)
